We are all addicted to something, whether it be food, alcohol, work, drugs, adventure, pills, bulimia, sex, etc. Food has been my addiction. Alcohol was my family addiction on my mother and dad's sides of the family. We are here to change our addictions, and I wish I were 50 instead of 66 (when I had better health). But I sure plan on living the best life I can now that I am sleeved! Best of luck Nancy!

Wendydarling19 got a reaction from Bandista in another 'new' weight loss device
It is already being tested in the US. I saw this back in October when I was researching surgeons. At first I thought it would be great but then I read no not for sustained weight loss! However, what it will be used for is to help people who are too overweight for weight loss surgery to lose their weight safely in order to undergo the surgery that they need. Also, used for people who may only have 20 lbs to lose! Not everyone is a candidate for WLS...some people are still very overweight but don't fit the correct BMI! I had to hit 233 lbs before I was eligible for the band and for insurance to cover it! It does not have to be removed at the end of 3 months. It is what's based on what your dr tells you. Yes, I think it's a little bit stupid but surgery isnt for everyone.

Haha! Your posts are very entertaining and enthusiastic! I love it! I also love how you have a name for your band. So awesome!! Keep up the good work! I am being banded next Thursday (the 23rd) and already, you are an inspiration to me...even though you have not been banded all that long.

So sorry about the loss of your son. I lost my son too, he was stillborn, very different but the same in many ways. I am having the lap-band as opposed to bypass or sleeve (truely because I'm a scaredy cat) to each their own. I know how difficult it is to focus on ourselves after something so traumatic. My loss is only a little over 1 year and I know for sure that eating is part of my comfort plan. Now, I must fine more positive things within myself. I just live FOR my angel as if he were still here, which I see you do too! Good luck with your procedure and your future weight-loss!
