  1. I can't ever seem to remember to use MFP when I start. I do well for about a day or so and then I just stop. Is there a way to tailor it to a low carb diet rather than the original low cal that it's set at?
  2. I have a hard time just eating "good carbs" because it triggers my mind to want the bad stuff so for now I'm going to avoid it all together. Thanks though I do get a few carbs from veggies like asparagus or broccoli or celery
  3. Huge inspiration! All of you who just posted before me are such a huge inspiration!
  4. So eat something with more substance. I was approved for solids 1 week after surgery so it can't be all that bad. IMO starving yourself is worse!
  5. I'm 23 and had my surgery 1/23 at 4 weeks post op I has lost 17 lbs. It does slow waaaay down. I didn't lose for a whole month! Then I had another fill and slowly but surely I am down 31 lbs. hoping to be down 50 by the end of June
  6. I do it... More often than not actually because it's easy. I just eat less of the junk because of the band. Now I'm concentrating on blocking out the carbs and sugars. No need to beat yourself up over it... Just get back on track and move forward
  7. Definitely move around to get the gas out. It should be all gone by day 4 and you will feel much better! I made sure to take my pain meds like clock work and I wasn't shy about asking for more when I ran out because I was still in pain
  8. Just keep your mind to it! I think the actual point to the pre op diet is to get yourself prepared for having a drastic change in diet after surgery. I didn't have a pre-op diet thank god so I don't know exactly what you are going through.
  9. I was starting to feel like my losses only happen when I get fills. I'm hoping it was only my body adjusting that makes it stop for 3-4 weeks. The I'll lose like 5-7 right away then stop for awhile. I really need to work on cutting out carbs and sugar
  10. This journey is very frustrating sometimes where I go 3-4 weeks with barely any movement in the scale. I am a scale person not a measure by clothes person because I can lose 50 lbs and not go down a pants size or shirt size (I have a large bust that prevents that and the last place I lose is my legs) I have lost 31 lbs so far and saw this morning a number on the scale this morning that I have not seen in 3 years!!! Wow! I really want to lose 4 more lbs by the end of the month and I'm going to try super hard to avoid carbs and sugar to do so! I'm shooting for -51 by the end of June to get me to onederland
  11. Well I'm 3 months out and I drink alcohol occasionally. I also had a vodka tonic because I didn't realize that's what it was. I thought my cousin was handing me water at the club on Saint Pat's... I should have known. Lol. I'm okay with the idea of not having carbonation ever again but alcohol I do love and need occasionally. Everything in moderation
  12. I buy regular "fat" stuff because I'm low carbing and the fat is good for that so I need the fat in the cheeses, it fills you up quicker. I usually always bought 2% because I hate whole milk. I don't drink milk but I used to have it in cereal, hubs still buys it though for some reason. Anyway, I do buy diet stuff though like drinks and whatnot because I'm watching carb and sugar intake and I also don't like to drink my calories.
  13. I don't live alone and I am quite young however I do know what you are going through! Most of us do! Most of us before WLS know what it's like to live to eat. When I was younger I lived in a poorer household. My mom was a single mother supporting my sister and I plus her sister and her sister's boyfriend and daughter. So that's 5 people, food was scarce. I would get $20 lunch money for the week for school and spend the extra on junk food for myself because it made me feel good. When I was 14 I moved in with my dad and his Italian wife who lived to cook and eat and whose motto was "food is love" I actually lost weight at one point from homemade food. I ballooned again when I moved out on my own and realized that with my money I could buy and eat whatever I wanted! Me and my bf work overnights which slows the metabolism to begin with not to mention being too tired to cook, we would go out almos every day to eat at a restaurant. I gained about 80-100 lbs this way. Then I got pregnant an lost the baby which caused me to stimulate my brain with food for relaxation. Now I have the band. Even with the band I find myself falling back sometimes and eating too many carbs (they go right through so be careful!) now I'm back on track as of a few days ago and losing again and it feels great. The band is a tool so you have to be willing to work it. If you have doubts that you will be able to work it or not, you may want to consider the sleeve.
  14. I would probably skip the pineapple right now just because of the sugar content but that's definitely something I would try in the future! I'm a strange eater and that sounds right up my ally! I literally eat like a stoner (for lack of a better term) I am by no means a stoner but I certainly eat that way. When I was younger one of my favs was Fritos and peanut butter... So bad!
  15. I get the rotisserie chicken salad from any of the local grocery stores. It's awesome by itself but I put a little Frank's hot sauce (I have an obsession with chic salad and h/s) and it's just so amazing!!
  16. I have to try and stay away from even that kind of stuff because if I trigger my mind to have anything sweet even if it's not real sugar... It'll want real sugar. My only escape is diet Arnold palmer's 1/2 and 1/2 which I'm kind of obsessed with
  17. Lol I think all of that will make me sick! I did start out the day with ribeye but that's only because it was left over from last night's dinner lol. I'm more of a chicken or burger "nuggets" (tiny burgers) person. Or egg salad and obsessed with rotisserie chicken salad lol
  18. You might see my mom. She has been trying to convince me to go to the nudie beach with her for years ahaha
  19. I get mad when people who know I have the surgery constantly ask me how much I have lost so far. Like "none of your damn business!" That's how much!
  20. Yeah I know the rules... Thanks... I have an addiction obviously or I never would have gotten so big to get the band in the first place
  21. Water weight or not... I gotta get it off right? Plus I'm pretty sure I lost my "water weight" during the first week after surgery when I lost 12 lbs. whatever it is that is tying up the scale it's got to get out of me!
  22. How much loss did you have with the band during induction. I'm going to low carb again. This is the only way I can lose. I want to see if this helps at all before I make an appointment for another fill. I would ideally love to lose 6 lbs by the end of this month... We will see.
  23. I just saw this thread but I had to reply!!! Since I'm a 40G I am guessing mine are about 5 lbs each. I can just -10 lbs each time I weigh I hope so terribly that they will go down to a manageable D cup again when I lose!!
  24. Lmao this was me on Tuesday in Pilates! Especially with sideways planking! My toothpick wrists could NOT hold my 222 lb body let alone my 1 toothpick wrist holding my 222 lb body!!!
  25. I'm not going to give up on it yet because it's pretty good on the proteins but not the carbs. I'm just going to try to cut the carbs better and get my fluids in! That part is hard because I work where sometimes I don't get a minute to go to the lavatory if need be and same with school!
