rlm34 reacted to nnaddour in How about some NSVs!?!?
I only had a few clothing goals going into this. One was that I could wear knee high riding boots. I bought 4 pairs and then returned 3. The thrill was in zipping them over my jeans.
Another was that I wouldn't wear the same dresses as my elderly overweight aunts. I'm 30 they are 60 it's been embarrassing since my early 20s. I bought an Xl dress I'll be wearing to a party on the 23 and I look hot I must say. well my husband said it too lol
I'm in my aunts size 14 jeans from a size 22/24. Her closet was cheaper than buying this phase of clothes I need.
And I took my grams Xl peacoat rather than replacing my 3xl coats for one that prob wouldn't fit next year anyway.
Loving life, this decision and all of you!!

I'm sooo loving my Mexican meals....1 tablespoon of chilli Beans, 1 tablespoon refried Beans, 1 teaspoon each of lite sour cream and cottage cheese...all pureed up to pinky/maroon mush. Yum!
Feeling great. Have done a 1hr tramp today thru some local forest and another 20 min walk later on in the afternoon. Fluid levels good. Still losing painfully slow - in fact I GAINED 1/4 lb this morning!! *sigh* ( still can't stay off scales).
Im keeping the faith that my body is in shock and will soon register all my hard work. :-)

SO this is really hard to fathom, I always knew pre op that weight would be coming off fast in the initial period, but I didn't really think it would happen to me. My surgery was last thursday and in 2 days I lost 7 pounds. I understand the mechanics behind this, but wow!!! This is a little surreal!

Thanks Molly! There should really be a special forum for slower losers. There's a few of us about and I'd hate to think anyone is feeling depressed or regretting their decision to have surgery and staying off rhe boards cos they see everyone else posting good losses. I have no regrets but I'm certainly asing myself wth is going on.
Have done my measurements and Ive lost alot from around my waist. Im thinking I might go back to my original plan of staying away from the scales till I see my nut in 2 weeks.
In other news im on soft foods/puree from today! Roll on refried Beans, porridge and poached/scrambled eggs!

Its amazing how fast my 2 week appt came up- was advanced from puree to 'soft foods', and down 22 lbs from my pre-op appointment.
I still just dont feel great- I have read about people having this energy burst but I havent seen it yet. I get so tired, so quickly...and my insides just dont feel 'right'. My doc said its all normal...and because I also had my ovaries removed my recovery may be a little slower than others.
Anyway....I want to tell everyone thank you for posting as we are going along. I dont reply to many posts- but its so encouraging to know that there are others who are going through this right along with me.
Sip...sip...sip...

Desperately trying not to freak out, get down or be negative....but today I'm 2 weeks out and I've only lost 4 lbs
Im following my nuts plan to the letter, drinking, walking, logging food and I've lost less weight in 2 weeks than when I used to diet before RNY.
Common sense tells me by body will be in shock and it will eventually come off.. but gee...that doesn't calm that voice in my head screaming " See? You're going to be the person surgery doesn't work for".
Just venting. Thanks

I am so sorry to see that so many of you are struggling so much right now. The beginning of this journey is not an easy one. It's hard to adjust to our new tummies and diets, especially when the rest of the world is around us eating the most delicious smell foods and the food commercials haunt us. But it's really important to remember WHY we chose to make this decision, our health, to feel comfortable in the space of our own bodies and to live more fun active lives. I have got a wonderful support group of people who have been down this road before me and not a one of them regrets their decision. That's such a driving force for me getting through the rough spots. I hope that you all start to get better and over the hump soon.

I wanted to share with my rny family that I have finally hit 198.6 today something I thought I would never see. I remember this time last year being at my highest weight of 280 and knowing that I had to do something. And now here I am under 200lbs finally!!! To everyone thinking about having this surgery, to every doubters or to anyone having second thoughts, know I felt the same way when I started and now here I am telling you DO IT. Get healthy, lose weight and be happy!!
Thanks for listening
