Don't lose hope. The sleeve is just as effective as the RNY procedure. There is only a 5% - 10% difference between them weight loss wise (depending on which chart you are looking at).
I would def. chose the sleeve over Lapland if I was in your situation.
Most surgeons are refusing the Lapland procedure because of how high the complication rates with it are. I'm surprised the Lapband has not been banned yet.

Well I haven't had the sleeve so I can't give you a first-hand report but I can tell you that virtually all of the research that I've read (which is considerable) is very positive. The sleeve is safe, effective, lower complication rate and considered less invasive than RnY. Like you, I'm not a fan of the band but the sleeve is an excellent alternative. You're gonna love the new you!!

sonya139 reacted to dottednails in When was the weight loss noticeable?
I had my rny in November and by family christmas everyone could tell that I had lost and I was down about two sizes. I would say that I have lost about one size a month pretty evenly started at at 28 and am now ten months out and wearing a size 12/14. Everyone will notice your face first. People don't recognize me anymore just today my son said to me that one of his friends asked if his dad got remarried because he did not recognize the woman that picked him up. When my son told him it was me he was like wow your mom is so skinny now that was a great way to end the day ! So it takes a few months but it goes pretty quick. Best of luck !

I was really apprehensive about Jerky after surgery, When I was a kid my mom used to say that Jerky would make you really constipated, and that's on a normal stomach, so I was a little wiggy about it.
But I tried it a couple weeks ago, and I chewed a small piece really fine, and It was alright and I had a couple more pieces. I didn't have any problems with it.
