    Another newbie, ranting

You can stay on the Protein shakes for the rest of your life if need be. They,Water and the Vitamins have all you need to survive I was told by my doctor. So if you can not take in other protein forms you can always rely on those. Its not easy, but who ever said it would be? Its worth it... I can also tell you that the pain levels vary from people to people. I left the hospital and NEVER took any pain meds. I never asked anyone to do anything for me. The more you move the better you feel faster.

What 3 things do u wish u had been told?

The first two I thought for sure I was bleeding to death! Of coarse I was on blood thinners still the first time around so that may have played factor into it, the second time was better then the first, but still bad. My third is about normal to what it was back when I was having it regularly anyways. Definatly the first was worse!!!

What 3 things do u wish u had been told?

You will definatley say to yourself at least once "WHY DID I DO THIS TO MYSELF?!?!" Then you will say "SHUT UP! YOU DID THIS FOR YOU, AND YOUR HEALTH FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!" However the three things I would have liked to know is: 1. Its not easy, but its all well worth it! 2. Its all about retraining your brain, and your body... breaking habits and making new ones! 3. Don't give up! If you stumble get back up, If you need a shoulder or an ear reach out! There is always someone willing to listen!

Beef jerkey is my new best friend

I am three months out and love beef jerky! Great source of protein! YUM!
  8. Since I could start eating solid foods on occasions I get acid reflux which I never had before. Other times I feel as though if I bend over what ever I last ate is going to come right back up or even just sitting I have to keep swallowing to keep it down. Doesn't matter what it is, or how little or much I ate. Has anyone else had this and what did you do to deal with it? I'm really getting frustrated! I am 2 months out tomorrow.
  9. Congrats on the start of your new life!
  10. I was told 8 weeks before I could have any of the products in the original post, by the nutritionist. I was just wondering what others guidelines were. I have read others can't have bread for 6 months. I could have toast and crackers at 4 weeks post op. And to be honest it was the first solid thing I could consume that felt good in my pouch! Of coarse it was about a third of a piece of Sarah Lee multigrain with a thin layer of peanut butter (which I could have since day 3 after surgery)
  11. The countdown is official now! I will email you tomorrow! Been so busy and am now on another antibiotic! This time for double ear infection! Go figure...
  12. How long if at all did you have to avoid tomato or tomato products after surgery? How about fruit or veggies with skins or seeds? 8 long weeks for me and my program. I know everyones program is different depending on where you go.

    Hi ppl (Worries)

I had mine Sept 23rd. I have lost 31 pounds so far. I stall for a few days not loosing anything and I was told this is perfectly normal! A lot of it depends on your intake and your activity levels. I still am unable to get all my Fluid or Protein "goals" into me but I make sure to exercise! Your not alone! It will happen all in good time! Be patient and keep healthy.

    Charly horses! Ouch

When my potassium is low that happens to me! I would try eating some banana, spinach, or other high potassium foods. Good luck!
