    low BMI Mexico patients

I highly recommend dr arturo rodriguez in monterrey, Mexico. he did a beautiful job on me and i only had twenty pounds to lose. you have to look with a magnifine glass to see my scars and my surgery was only eight and a half months ago. visit his website at thebariatric.com good luck anya
  2. hi melanie. i am undergoing the same issues. have you resolved them? what's going on with you now? i'm really frustrated and can't sleep well since i am coughing and spitting up half the night. also, my weight loss has not only stopped, but i seem to be gaining. :(

  3. anyone ever get the shakes:omg: after a fill? i just had a .5cc fill and immediately after i started shaking/trembling as though i just drank a quadruple expresso. anyone know what that is about?

    trembling after a fill

i wasn't nervous though, so i'm wondering if the fill triggers some type of endocrine reaction. cortisol flow from adrenals? insulin surge from pancreas? obviously, something is happening.

    newbie-preop weight loss

hi jamitwins dr arturo rodriguez, in monterrey, Mexico does excellent work and doesn't require pre-op diet. if you want to email him, you can reach him at md@thebariatric.com. he did surgery on me a few weeks back and a top bariatric surgeon at NYU said that rodriguez did a terrific job. another option is the master cleanser lemonade diet, which is a great detox program and the lemon juice naturally curbs appetite. i've done this as a fast on several occasions. here's a few websites: lemonadediet.com, Lemonade Diet Recipe the recipe, from the last website is: For at least 10 days, drink around 10 servings/day of the following: 2 Tablespoons (1 Fluid ounce) fresh-squeezed lemon or lime juice NOT BOTTLED JUICE!! (approx. ½ lemon), 2 Tablespoons (1 fluid ounce) organic Grade B maple syrup, 1/10 Teaspoon or more cayenne pepper (hot red pepper), and 1 Cup (8 fluid ounces) purified or spring Water, NOT fluoridated water. good luck, anya

    Sleep laying down

yeah, i slept on my back for the first week post-op. like you, i was afraid i would mess something up, plus i wasn't that comfortable sleeping on my side. maybe this is why i hardly bruised from the surgery. i hope you heal quickly.

    wanna help a pre op??

hi theekimmy my bmi was too low for anyone i contacted in the u.s. to do surgery on me. I found dr arturo rodriguez in monterrey, Mexico who did band surgery on me 9/24. about a week afterwards i went to nyu's bariatric center and had dr. george fielding check arturo's work. fielding said Rodriquez did an excellent job. rodriguez' fee wasd $7900, a third of what i would have had to pay at nyu. dr. fielding also said that he would band patients whose bmi's are too low (according to most docs) but who have good cause to get the band. (i had the band put in mostly as a prophylactic measure because of side effects from drugs i will have to take for the rest of my life from newly diagnosed lupus). here is the contact info for both docs: dr. arturo rodriguez: md@thebariatric.com dr. george fielding: (212)263-3166 good luck anya
  13. yeah, maybe this is what they mean by bander's hell: life post-op before a proper fill that gets that "sweet spot."

I'm going to have to force myself to eat.

I am sooooooooo envious. I am praying I get to that place, too, where I really don't care about food and my bmi is low.
  15. hey there, ms nyc i am in the same boat as you. i was banded 9/24 and initially lost my appetite and was content with liquids and small amounts of mushy foods. now that i am two and a half weeks post-op, my appetite is back and the pounds i initially lost have been creeping back on. it's really frustrating and scary. i am praying that the fill will help take my appetite away again. it sucks, doesn't it???

    Where is your port?

my port is located on the very bottom part of my lower left abdomen, quite near the groin. i had it put there because i don't have a lot of abdominal fat, and i don't want the port sticking out. let's just hope it doesn't end up sticking out like a small penis.
  17. hi folks i am several days post op and have been feeling constant burning pain at the site of the port and associated with much swelling there. unless i ice it, i am in constant pain. anyone else with this issue? anyagirl:help:
  18. thank you so much, candle. i really appreciate it.
  19. i do not have high bodyfat in my abdomen and was concerned with the port showing through once i got leaner, so the doc told me he is going to put the port in the inguinal area (lower abdomen). maybe this is an option for you. good luck
  20. uh, i'm new to this.... help me out here: DH as in Dick Head??? sonds like it.

Having a hard time with hunger

hi elizabeth sounds like you are feeling scared, because you are hungry. i'm getting banded on the 24th, and, like you, i am concerned with the ensuing hunger and hoping i don't screw up the band by eating too much. anya
