I too have been looking into P90x, but it's rediculously expensive! 120.00 seriously... If I knew i would stick to it 100% I would have no problems forking out the money. So my question is, where can I get a bootleg copy?

I have the same problem with constipation. I went to the dr. yesterday and he told me to take stool softeners, Milk of Magnesium and also perscribed Amitiza capsules. He said I should be ok after taking that perscription. I asked him if the lap band is the cause of me being constipated and he said no! Lets hope it's not cause this wasn't in the fine print regarding complications with the lapband.

Tonya- I to have noticed that my band is very restricted in the mornings and then gradually opens up so by dinner time I could eat a horse if I let myself. There are times when I wake up in the middle of the night and try to drink water and I can feel it kinda of just sit there for a minute, then gradually go down. I haven't had a fill in about 6 months, it just seems very flacky if you ask me. :wink2:

I am 27 year old female, had the lap band on March 20, 2007 by Dr. Spivak. To date I have lost 98 lbs. I'm struggling hitting that 100 lbs mark, but I will get there (soon I hope). I purchased the ipod sensor (it's about 29.00 at Academy), you also need the ipod (not the very small one, but the nano, it needs to have a screen on it and if you do a search online you can actually purchase a little clip ($8.00) so that it attaches to your shoe laces (so you don't have to spend 100.00 on the Nike+ shoes). I have the same problem. It hurts about 2 hours after I eat. I'm suppose to go to the gastro. dr. tomorrow but with this storm headed my way I think I will have to cancel. Selaine how did they find the problem? What type of test did they do? Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Eclipse

Wombat- were you self-pay?

I went the insurance route and I too was confused about the $2500 thing. I even paid 500 dollars to Dr. Beltran (his assistant surgeon) and another 400-500 dollars for anestiga (I admit I wasn't ever in a spelling bee). Why are they making us pay extra for all this other stuff, I was under the impression it was covered in the $2500.00. Was I misinformed?

Mert how was the whole experience with your surgeons? Garth seems like the sweetest Dr. in the world. I wish I would have know about him in March 2007 when I received my lapband!

And what's up with the burping? I was banded March 21st and I still find that at times I can burp for like minutes. I don't eat fast, nor do I drink anything when I eat, so I know it's not that. Faithmd, any suggestions? Is that considered normal?

Faithmd- I couldn't agree with you more. Immediately after waking up from surgery I felt sad, and I remember crying and saying I wish I never did this. It would have been nice if my drs would have told me that most patients go thru this type of behavior. A week later I was loving my band!!! You gave some great advice.

I have gotten 2 fills so far, and UHC still hasn't picked up the cost for them, but they did however cover the procedure 100%. Makes no sense at all, the band is pretty much use less until you get the fills. Sounds to be like they need a LapBand for dummies course!

I have seen the show. The 2 doctors are actually from Houston, TX. Which freaked me out, I was like oh my god I know exactly where they are! I knew the building and surroundings looked familiar. I have seen a lap band performed on a 600 lb. man. They did actually hit a vein, so some bleeding did occur, but he can't out like a champ! I need to DVR it, but I can't remember what days it comes out on. Its kinda freaks me out to see them perform the surgery cause it's like oh my that is exactly what I went thru. Just so hard to believe ya know! So glad to hear Im not the only 1 watching it! Eclipse

Raquel, I too was banded by Dr. Spivak on March 21. I did not however have the barium test done. Would you mind asking if all his patients are required to have that done? I never did. I personally did not like Park Plaza, it wasn't as nice as I thought it was going to be. And the nurses weren't all that great. The anestigiolist (sp?) was awesome. His name was Jon and he was super sweet. Ask about his policy on fills, not sure if your self pay or insurance covered. His policy on fills with insurance has been changing quite a bit lately. I called Dr. Spivak's office this week and tried to make an appointment for my very 1st fill. I was told that since the insurance covered the surgery they would have to submit a request to UHC would they be willing to pay for my 1st fill. Apparently this is a new policy with UHC, but I don't think this "new policy" makes sense! Why would they approve me for the lap band, but have then I would have to wait 3-4 weeks to hear if they approve paying for the fill (which would be my very 1st might I add). Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of getting the lap band in the 1st place??? This is crazy! I need my 1st fill bad. I have no restriction at all! Is anyone else having the same problem? Eclipse

I too had the same question, just to embarrassed to ask. I loved the response about "wait till you at least leave the parking garage. I waited 5 or 6 days and didn't have any problems. Eclipse

berry, I feel your pain. I was banded on March 21st and feel the exact same way you do. We definately need a fill ASAP . Eclipse
