  1. It could be you are constipated and need to have a bowel movement , I didn't have one for 4 weeks after my surgery...I thought it was normal cause I was in liquid so what possible could come out, once I went the pain went away ...muralax in your drink every night helps you become regular
  2. Yes please let us know, too many with ulcers after this surgery , it's not mentioned in the things that can develop after and I really want to say something to my surgeon on my follow up visit

  5. I am 14 weeks post op and lost 70 lbs... It is all dependent on the person and the food you can handle ... I'm mostly on protein drinks and meal bars ...just started exercising today
  6. Yes unfortunately depending on the insurance , take pics of the folds and any irritation , the dr has to document that you have tried powders creams etc....I hate to say this but allow for the sores not to get better and usually you have to wait 18 months from the date of your surgery
  7. I am 13 weeks out and I feel the same way..I have trouble eating other foods, I have only eaten. Peanut butter , scrambled eggs, oatmeal, and unjury unflavored protein mix in my oj. I was told it gets better and when I've tried to eat chicken I feel like it gets stuck and just can't stand all those other protein drinks and shakes , went for an endoscopy yesterday and now I have an ulcer...no matter if the drink is cold or room temp it bothers my stomach ...I've lost 68 lbs but the most protein I've got down is 40g ...I'm losing my hair and I'm tired...it has gotten better from the first day, but the thoughts are the same I wonder if I did the right thing and then I have to remind myself how far I've come and that I don't have sleep apnea and not out of breath anymore
  8. I can only not recommend depo because you will gain weight with it...I would try. IUD
  9. No soda , huge coke drinker and I quit a month before my surgery and won't go back ... It's not worth it, no nutritional factors can come from it .
  10. Thanks , I went in and they stated I have an ulcer...so far 3 people I know after the gastric have developed ulcers, have any of you!s?
  11. As much as its a change for us, it's a change for them...your hormones are all over the place after surgery...it doesn't hurt to cry, let it out and I hope that he can see how ridiculous it was to yell at you over a coupon ...hang in there and take care of yourself
  12. That's unacceptable... You have done a fabulous thing so that you can be healthy for you , your children , and him ...there is nothing wrong with removing the excess skin and its not fake....be proud of yourself and he needs to love you unconditionally ...please don't let him deter you from it...I hope it's just his insecurity and hopefully it will get better
  13. I think you will do great;)
  14. I'm going in this morning for an endoscopy , 3 months post op and it hurts when I eat, feels like something is getting stuck and threw up blood a few weeks ago when I tried to eat boiled chicken ...they said it could be ulcer or stricture ;(
  15. Never had acne before. Ordered proactive , cleared up in 2 weeks
  16. I am having that problem now at 13 weeks post op, I'm having an endoscopy tomorrow to see if I have an ulcer or a stricture. I would def call your dr.
  17. Muralax, it's expensive but a capful in every night in your favorite drink will help you to go regular

  19. Your not alone and I'm glad you went to the ER ... I was depressed a few days after I got home... I was in so much pain and when I thought if the things I was going to miss and eating out with my family and bbq's it got worse...all socialism is surrounded by food...it does get better..it will take time and its ok to cry...also Celebrex helps with the pain...my dr ordered it and works...
  20. Hi I'm 34 and had my gastric bypass on march 8, 2013 ...so far I'm down 68 lbs... My husband had gastric sleeve so his weightloss journey is a little bit different...looking for a buddy
  21. Orange juice seems not to cause any dumping for me ... Apple juice on the other hand goes right through me
  22. I am 12 weeks post op and never hungry .. I can't seem to get the 60 oz of protein and only drink about 24 oz of water and 16 oz of orange juice. I lost 20 lbs in the first 3 weeks so your loss is within the range...it is all dependent on the body and how well it adjusts
  23. I put in my paperwork 1 month before. It was covered under the short term disability and my doctor put me out for 4 weeks , he wouldve put me out longer but I was ready to get back in the swing of things ... If you can go back part time for at least a week because naps are def needed. It does fall under the fmla so your job is protected...you need at least the 4 weeks to get rest and get into a schedule with food... Although its liquids you gotta get use to it
  24. Hi everything will be ok....there is no hunger after the surgery...it will be some pain from the incisions and extreme exhaustion from the anesthesia , but it is so worth it...it's a whole new life and a whole new way of looking at food...it doesn't taste the same which I think helps with not craving certain things anymore ... I just found this forum and I'm glad to finally be able to chat with real people , good luck
