MGteacher got a reaction from DevilBlueDress in How about some NSVs!?!?
In the past when I took a bath and drained the Water there would still be water behind me when I stood up because my body acted like a dam. Today I stood up and all the water had already drained out!! My body is no longer as wide as our tub!!! WooHoo!!

I just realized today that I no longer hate my body. RNY 6/3, 65 pounds down. Now that's something.

MGteacher got a reaction from Shannon Mcmanus in 48th Birthday Wish-Onederland
My 48th birthday is Saturday and the scale has been toying with me all week. Well, today our fidgety scale weighed me at 198.5 twice and 199 once. I think I can officially say I'm in onederland!!! WooHoo!!!

MGteacher got a reaction from mzshay35 in Protein Shakes ? Food ?
You may not be able to get in all your Protein and liquids at first, but you'll work up to it. You'll concentrate on liquids first and foremost. As far as shakes go, your tastes may change after surgery. I would not count on your favorite type staying your favorite. Personally, I keep chocolate, vanilla, and plain Protein powders in the house to add to things like yogurt, smoothies, milk, etc... Also, don't buy oodles of food ahead of time. I wasted a ton on money on things I never used. I have baby food meat, dried milk, lots of broths, ready made Protein Shakes, and lots more than I'll never use. I had a relatively easy time with food and once I got to the puréed stage, I didn't really need anything too specialized. Good luck to you from a fellow planner!!

MGteacher reacted to Sparklette in crying like a baby no support at all
This is common. You used to find comfort in your food and your family bonding over it. Now there is a disconnect. It happens a lot.
Your partner needs to help you. But he might not know how. Talk to him. I would also recommend therapy probably someone who specializes in addiction disorders.
Things get better.

MGteacher got a reaction from Dorian in April 2013 Post-Op Group
I'm so sorry this didn't turn out the way you had hoped. I know it's beyond difficult, but you'll get through it. I think there's a really strong chance that your body will be more ready in a few months. Try to think positively. I really think your new lifestyle will make this happen eventually. Hang in there.

MGteacher got a reaction from Kristi in June Post Ops!
Is it wrong that it brought me joy today when a child in my class said "My mom is bigger than you. You're skinnier than her."

MGteacher got a reaction from Dbanks in June Post Ops!
About 6-7 years ago I lost about 50 lbs. through diet and exercise, but I regained it all and then some. I saved all that old clothing and I've been happily fitting into it again. Today while looking for things to put in next week's garage sale, I found 4 totes of forgotten clothing in sizes 22-14. I'm currently in a 22 or 20 depending on the item. It felt like I won the lottery!!

MGteacher got a reaction from zuzuspetals in Comparison Pics-Almost 10 weeks
Don't know if the photos will show up. If they do, this is 10 weeks after surgery. Down 42 pounds with the 7 I lost during the 2-day pre/op liquid diet. Feeling so much better!

My weight loss has still been sluggish. I've lost 1 lb. in 2 weeks, BUT I measured my waist today and it's 1 1/2 inches smaller than it was only 7 days ago! Yay!
