  1. I drank wine 6 weeks out of surgery with no issues. I've heard people say that they got drunk much quicker, but I haven't experienced that either.
  2. I was a self-pay also. Mine was $19,000. I had 3 Doctors write letters to the insurance company BCBS and they still wouldn't pay a dime. Even though I met all the criteria BCBS said that there was a stipulation in my policy that stated that they would not pay for ANY weight loss related treatment.

    omg my boobs :((((

I had a breast lift and implants in 97'. With all of the scar tissue surrounding my implant and the weight loss, I have a fake boob with a pancake boob hanging under it. Doctor called it a double bubble. LOL! As soon as I can I'm getting them fixed.

    June Post Ops!

I can't tolerate any kind of meat and I'm 6 weeks out. NUT said Isopure since I already drink chocolate protein shakes. I'm getting real tired of those. Isopure is tolerable if I hold my breath. I tried crystal lite fruit punch with 1 scoop unflavored Unjury and it was better than Isopure(and a lot cheaper). Downfall is only 21 gms protein instead of 40 gms in Isopure. My surgeon told me at least 52 grams of protein a day, NUT says 75. Whatever. I guess I'll shoot for something in between..

    June Post Ops!

It was the same for me. Insurance would not cover any weight loss surgery. They will pay for diabetes meds and knee replacement and 100 different other things caused by obesity. I had to pay 19,500 up front. Now I'm starting to get bills for pathology etc. I'm pissed! I was told it was $19,500 for EVERYTHING. I'm calling my doctor's office tomorrow to vent.

    raw veggies

I'm 4 weeks out and cucumbers are one of the only fresh vegetables I can tolerate. I don't take the seeds out. I cut them into thin "chips" and dip them in Hummus.
  7. She cleared me for solids at my two week post-op. I think I'm going to go back to soft foods only for awhile.
  8. Thanks everybody. I'm feeling better this morning. Definatly headed to the store for Papaya enzymes and Pepto.
  9. I had GBS on June 12, 2013. I've been doing great, no problems at all. We are visiting relatives out of state this holiday and for dinner I had a 1/2 a small baked potato with some regular sourcream on it and some squash casserole that probably wasn't low fat. That was 5 hours ago and I am in so much pain I am starting to think I need to go to the emergency room. I have taken 2 percocet and it still hasnt let up. Could fatty food make me feel this awful? I was doing fine all day until after dinner. I thought if it was the food the pain would have subsided by now. Could a ulcer hurt this bad? or even gallbladder? all of that was fine during my GBS. Any input would be appreciated.
  10. Nutri-Bullet. $99 at Target and Wal-Mart. It's AWESOME! I use it everyday even though I can eat regular food now. Great for smoothies.

    June Post Ops!

I guess I can't do green smoothies anymore. Four drinks and BAD stomach pain. This is the first time something hasn't agreed with me. I'm surprised the pain has lasted this long? (half hour).

    Two Weeks & Regret!

At Wal-Mart they have Protein Shots. They are 2.9 oz and have 26 gm of Whey protein. I think they are Body Fortress brand. They had some that were more expensive that were 54 gm in each one.
  13. I had surgery last Wednesday and I feel like I can eat more than I should be able to. My mind starts thinking that maybe my Dr. accidentally gave me the sleeve instead of the by-pass. I know it sounds stupid, but I've eaten over 4 oz but not more than 6 oz and feel fine. Does the sleeve hold more food than the pouch?
