I protest!! This thing called getting back into shape is turning out to be a lot of work. Wasn’t near this hard getting out of shape! ;-)

Ok, My Story goes like this…
Born and grew up in NC. Now living in GA, and not enjoying it at all! Visited NY and feel in love with the state, but then I’ve always been a Yankee at heart. I love the northern states. I used to be a long haul truck driver seeing the USA through the windshield until a wreak that screwed up my left knee and back put a stop to my working in 1992 and left me to walking with a cane today. After that, I had a life of not working and spending a lot of time on my rear end doing not much of anything but letting my body go to hell. But who sees that coming when one becomes disabled and has not much of a purpose in life anymore. Mind and body pretty much went down hill.

In 2007 I had neck surgery on my cervical spine where they fused 3 disc together.

In 2010 I started feeling run down all the time, just no energy to doing anything and feeling bad most every day along with stinging and feeling of pins sticking me in my fingers and toes and my legs would get weak enough, I’d fall down. Went to get checked out and found out I was a diabetic, have an inactive thyroid, have neuropathy that effects the nerves in my fingers, legs and feet and leaving me to having to take 5 pills a day so I can walk, ride bike or just simply keep my balance. Doctor said I had been a diabetic for at least 25-30 years. With that visit to doctor, I learned that I weighed 383 pounds. I couldn’t believe I had gained that much weight. So I decided enough was enough and I joined a gym and have loved going. Changed the foods I ate and in 8 months, I lost 93 pounds. Shortly after losing 93 pounds, I learned I have cirrhosis of the liver, spleen and some other stuff going on. Doctor said the cirrhosis came from being a diabetic and being over weight for so many years making me have a fatty liver which lead to cirrhosis. Also my spleen is fighting to heal my liver which is causing my spleen to eat up my blood clot platelets causing my body to not make the normal amount of blood that a body should be making. Which means, when I get cut, it’s hard to get my blood to clot in order to stop the bleeding. And I’ll have to be given extra blood platelets if I even have to have any kind of surgery.
Anyway, after going through many test, I found out the scarring of my liver is bad enough that the scarring will never get better and the function of my liver is only half and I have to get the weight off to help the function of my liver to get better, but that I’m on a time table and don’t have time to keep going as I’m doing in trying to lose the weight.
Wow, doctors today can pin point the cause of someones cirrhosis but they can’t fix it… smdh!

Not enough time??? I didn’t like that answer so I seen another doctor. Guess what, same frigging answers!
So their idea is weight loss surgery for an answer. So I went to see a Bariatric surgeon. He says gastric bypass surgery is best for me because I am a diabetic. At least all my doctors seem to think surgery should help me. So I have been going through the steps leading towards the surgery, but still not made up my mind if I’ll do it. I’ve seen the help it can do in weight loss because my wife had it done a year ago and I know if I do this, there’s a great chance of saving my live and if I don’t do it, one year, maybe two, me and my lovely liver will die…
It’s sad it sometimes takes a lifetime to wake us up!

Health problems huh?? Oh well, don’t everyone have something in life they have to deal with! ;-)
The great part is, I still get to go the the gym 5-6 days a week anytime I want, day or night. I even get to grow some muscles. lol What more could ya want?? lol

So that’s all, no problems here and I guess that’s all there is to say about me… :-)
