  1. Hi excitedmama, I got banded 3 yrs ago and lost well at first. I have since gained a bit back. It really is upsetting for me, but I am the only one who can turn it around. I am down a total of 25 pounds, but was down 45 pounds before gaining 20 back. Are you following a specific diet? I need to start working out. Do you exercise?
  2. I am hoping we get some people on this thread regularly so I can get some motivation while motivating others.!!!
  3. I am now 12 days into the Atkins diet and love it. In the past, I have done really well on atkins and find that it is pretty much the best way for ME to lose weight. I love that I can eat good, whole foods on the diet, and that my band stops me from overeatting. I always did well on atkins but overate just because I could. I really dont count carbs strictly, but I know they are low. Here is a daily menu. This is pretty typical of most days. b- atkins shake l- chef's salad with spring mix, cheese, ham, egg and ranch dressing d -about 5 oz prime rib, salad (today i went nuts and ate 2 onion rings) snack - atkins dessert made with 2 Tbs cocoa and 4 Tbs whipping cream
  4. Ice cream is the DEVIL! I am an ice cream snob and only like the really good stuff too. I HATE sugar free or fat free or any of that diet crap. I am going to try the cool whip idea, and maybe the small blue bell single servings. Let's not let ice cream conquer us!
  5. It really depends on how tight you are. Sometimes I have issues eating scrambled eggs, but most times I go slow For snacks I like deviled eggs, pepperoni, ham and cheese rollups.
  6. I have always been a fast eater. My reason is that if my food is hot, I cant stand to eat it if it gets cold, and vice versa with cold food. This has been a very big struggle for me too. What I do is try to put my fork down between bites, and of course, all the tricks you all are using helps. Talking, getting online, etc. are all good ways to slow it down.
  7. oops, that was supposed to say, please dont give UP
  8. Thank you for your story. I know how it feels too. I will eat if I can get it down. The feeling of fullness that we are supposed to feel isnt the same as without the band. Before, feeling full was in the belly area. But now it is in the throat area. Does that make sense? I have started my journey over with a nice fill yesterday and am ready to get to losing. Please dont give us.
  9. You are amazing. Thank you for telling your story.
  10. I would like to get this out as well. I think I have had a hard time letting go of some of the foods I eat. I never considered the emotional implications of lapband. I think those of you preparing for your lapband surgery should really take some time to consider how you may feel about letting go of some of the foods you eat, as well as eating habits. I am in no way recommending not having the surgery, I am happy with it, but please be aware of your committment. Thanks for indulging me.
  11. denim, are you going to have your band replaced? Why did you have yours removed? I was banded in Oct. of 2007 and I have had a hard go of it. I initially lost 48 pounds, but have since gained back all but 15! I am so upset with myself. I have found myself to be very persistant and if there is a food I shouldnt eat, I find ways to eat it. I have had issues and had to have all the Fluid taken out, in the past year I have had a lump removed from my breast and a rotator cuff surgery which has left me with very limited movement in the arm. I currently take PT for the arm, as the surgery was only 7 weeks ago. But anyway, enough excuses. I have been going for months now to get my fluid back in, and just yesterday, the fill I had is VERY noticeable. I have restriction and that is awesome. I am going back to square one and following the rules like a "newborn". Wish me well, as I wish you all well.
  12. You're doing great FTSTOMPER!
  13. Today: B: Atkins shake coffee L: Deviled eggs D: bacon cheeseburger, no bun salad with ranch dressing Snack: Deviled eggs
  14. I use either Atkins or the EAS shakes. Most have either 1 or 2 carbs.
  15. I will post my menu for today, and try to continue this daily so maybe we can all get into the habit. B- Protein shake coffee Snack - Protein Shake L - Low carb Soup, small portion of cauliflower, one boiled egg + one boiled egg white D - 2 cups Spring mix, red and yellow bell peppers, gilled chicken and 2 Tbs. Ranch. Total Carbs : 27 Protein: 77 Calories: 795 I am making deviled eggs tonight an MAY have some of that. I am happy with my carb intake, but will bring it down tomorrow!!!
