mmmmmm BBQ sauce. The tomato sauce idea sounds good too- or even the diced tomatos in tomato sauce. Man I'm so hungry now..... on day 2 of my pre-op *sigh*

Yuck! Yuck! Ick! ugh! I just started my pre-op diet yesterday. My surgeon makes you buy their stuff they sell. It's Myocel. Can we say...NASTY! LOL I was sooo hungry by dinner time last night. I made a "test shake" Tuesday night after my pre-op appointment and blah!!! I called the nurse @ my Dr's office and she gave me some ideas of things I can add into my Chocolate myocel- coffe flavors, sugar free chocolate pudding mix (not the whole package I'm sure, just to add a little flavor), bananas, strawberries, sugar free jello.... So I'm going to try a few strawberries and maybe 1/2 a banana today and hope for the best.

LOL I cried on the phone w/the insurance lady that told me I was approved. She said my approval letter just went out today She probably thought I was a freak but oh the heck well. LOL I'm having my surgery done w/Dr. Powell @ the Surgery Center in Richardson (TX). I can't wait!!! My pre-op is on Tuesday 4/26.

My DH was a little leary at first too. He hates taking meds when he's sick, hates going to the Dr, dentist, refuses to get shots, etc.... Anything to do with cutting, blood, surgery just ooks him out LOL. I didn't even tell him about it until the day after my consultation. After I explained to him what exactly the band was and after seeing the brochure he's totally on board. He's really excited for me and ever since my consultation instead of calling me by my name, Brandi, he calls me "Bandy" *roll eyes* LOL.

Where do i do that?

and yes I'm shouting.....I GOT IT!!!!!!!!! UHC APPROVED ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMGoodness- big huge crocidile tears. The inside of me feels like it's going to burst if I don't screem but I might get fired if I do. LOL :banana :banana :banana :banana I'm officially a May bandster!!! May 9th to be exact :banana .

UGH!! I'm so frustrated. I just talked to UHC and the girl I talked to said that it's "still in review". So I pressed for dates. I already knew the Care Cord. dept received my paperwork on 4/4. I found out that it has been sitting in the que an got sent on to be reviewed on 4/14 but has not been assigned to any particular person yet and that everything is done on a case by case basis. She also told me that there is no specific time frame on these types of cases. When I said that I thought they had only 30 days to send an approval or denial according to several other reps and others as well, she said that wasn't true. Grrrrr I'm so frustrated with them. I know my packet shows a tentative surgery date of May 10th- they need to bust a move!!!!!

I'm the same way. I'd look at myself in the mirror and go I can't be that fat, I cant possibly look like I wear a size 16/18 do I? Then I see a picture of myself and am like OH MY I sure am that fat.

LOL St. Patty's is a blast. That parade is actually in Dallas- the Greenville Avenue St. Patty's day parade. I stagger through it every year...what other day is ok to start drinking on a public street before noon LOL.

LOL I think I'd faint if I ever fit back into that size 2/4 prom dress from 8 years ago. Heck I don't even know where it is. Actually i think DH's sister has it, she wore it to her prom back in 2000. Man I loved that dress. LOL

Congrats on your surgery! I called today and my file is still "in review". UGH!! Approve me already!!! The guy I talked to says the time frame really just depends on how many files they have going at that time. Sooooo I shall call again tomorrow or Thursday. I need to find out over the phone cause they still don't have my correct address to send my letter, even though my HR department said that it should be updated by Monday (yesterday). And the way our stuff is set up, I can't call uhc and change the address myself, I have to go through my HR Dept. How stupid is that!

*grin* I knew you would Christina The album labeled Kali & Chynna (I fostered Kali)- those two girls were part of a cruelty case, luckily the crazy b*&^ch animal control took them from was sent to jail for animal cruelty. May she rot in there!! They had no hair, horible demodex mange, yeast infections in their ears and were sooooooo itchy. Thus the reason for the shirt- so she'd quit scratching herself bloody. But with a little TLC she was as good as new and all her hair came back and she's absolutely stunning now. My boxer girl loved her to death!!! She was VERY upset with me when she got adopted- She completely ignored me for a week, if I talked to her she would turn her head the other way. LOL

*sigh* stiiiillll waiting. I just called UHC and my file is showing pending. They received my packet on 4/4. The girl I talked to last week said that she shows a surgery date of 5/10 though! I'm hoping I can get a verbal approval so I can get the surgery date moved up since I'm going to Vegas the first week in June and want to be at least close to choking down solid foods. I hate the hurry up and wait game

I had my consultation on 3/22, my doc said that all UHC requires is bloodwork. the Friday after my consultation (3/25) the order form to get my bloodwork done came in the mail from the doc. The following Monday morning(3/28) I had my blood drawn and I called the Dr. Tuesday (3/29) afternoon and they said they already had the bloodwork back and would be mailing it off to UHC. When I spoke w/UHC this morning they said they had received it on Friday (4/1). I'm hoping that it only takes UHC 2 weeks or less like my doc said that UHC usually does so that'll give me 2 weeks on my pre-op diet and my band at the very end of april and a month of recovery and into mushy food time b4 my trip to Vegas on June 2nd
