I'm 60. Anyone else over 50 doing RNY?

I was 50 when I had my surgery. July will be 2 years for me! I did great! Don't regret it for a moment. Was a size 22, now a size 6!!

    Vomiting

I started the soft foods phase this week and I have to say that almost every time I eat I feel nauseous! I've not thrown up but I certainly don't feel good. I'm so sick of protein shakes the thought of them make me gag! I was so excited to start this phase and get off the pureed. I just don't know what to do!!! :-(

    New Person! !

Welcome to the forum. This is a great site for support!
  9. Not sure why mine took 3 hours... there were no complications. My surgeon used the Da Vinci Robot-don't know if that's why it took longer.
  10. Good luck! Wishing you a speedy recovery!!
  11. Awesome news! Congratulations! The 23rd will be here before you know it!

July 2013 - Post Op Thread

Hi everyone! Day 3 post op and I'm feeling pretty good. Sipping, walking and napping is all I'm doing right now. Sunday I start full liquids so I can start eating cream soups, SF pudding and yog urt... looking forward to that. Only real pain is around drain area especially when getting up and down. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers!

    Loser's Bench Here I Come...

Thanks everyone! I will post as soon as I'm able. @Carol, so glad it all went so well for you; I'm hoping for the same outcome. I had my gallbladder out years ago so I don't have to worry with that. My surgeon's during the procedure with the Da Vinci Robot; supposedly there's less chance of complications and a quicker recovery time. I'm hoping to go back to work in two weeks!!
