  1. Mine was in the top of my right hand. I have wicked deep veins as well, even when I was thin they had trouble getting a good vein. I had no pain until after it was removed, and that was just from the cath poking every time I bent my hand.
  2. The stall is finally done!!! Only lasted 5 day, which I know is nothing compared to some of you, but geez that scale can make you feel like a dang failure! Almost 40 pounds down, and tomorrow marks 1-month post-op. Hoping to lose another 30-40lbs by mid-July when my husband gets home.
  3. Me too! Mine flung across the room the other night, took me awhile to find it!
  4. I was given the go ahead for the New Whey protein shots from my nut.
  5. Ugh, I am 3-weeks out, and I know I'm not physically hungry but goodness, my mind won't shut up! UGH! Any tips to get over it?
  6. You look Fabulous! Congrats!
  7. 3 weeks out, as of yesterday, and I have been hit with the dreaded stall....poo!
  8. interesting.....from the little I read it is a common practice in anorexic patients to fool their doctors in to thinking they gained weight.......also read that body builders use it to make their muscles bulge for competition....I will need to look more into it too....
  9. "Water loading can lead to serum electrolyte imbalance and cardiac arrest." Why would anyone want to try that?
  10. The night I had my staples taken out! It was amazing! The single best night of sleep since surgery.
  11. What the others said. Also, think about it like this, you no longer make stomach acids to break down your food, since all you have is saliva, you want to give it plenty of time to break down. If the food doesn't properly break down, than your small intestine won't be able to absorb all the nutrients.
  12. Does anyone else feel like they are losing too quickly? I am down almost 35 pounds in 17 days. I know rapid weight loss can lead to gallbladder issues. Should I be worried?
  13. So, is anyone else feeling tired all of the time? I am a stay at home mom to three, so I am fortunate enough to be able to nap mid-day when they do, but if I don't get a nap, I am like the walking dead by 5pm. I am plenty hydrated, so I don't think water is the issue. Ugh, can't wait to get over this first month!
  14. I am 2 weeks as well! I am having most trouble with food in general! Not that I can't handle it but more that I am afraid of it. I eat once a day, at most. I have no problem with vitamins and water, but shakes make me gag, so they are out at the moment.
  15. Well, poo. My bariatric "bible" says no tomato....I wonder why? I love tomato soup!
  16. They gave us bottles of crystal light with our meals in the hospital and I did great with it then, but I haven't tried since. I have read that a bunch of people are having trouble with it, though.
  17. Oh gosh, I can't stop burping! Anyone else? That is the only gas I can pass, my stomach never gurgles, so not too sure what's going on.
  18. this liquid diet is for the birds, lol! I can't wait to start adding solids. I miss steaks, fried rice, pizza, sushi amongst many things, though all in due time, I guess.
  19. They occasionally have broccoli and cheese soup. Maybe salmon as it is a soft fish?
  20. I can;t wait for stage 3! I am dying for a scrambled egg or some greek yogurt! It's crazy, because I am not hungry, ever, but I still crave the taste of foods. I actually licked my husband spaghetti spoon the other night just to get the taste, lol!
  21. My feet too! I thought it was weird!
  22. Does anyone else feel like their water container has become an "additional appendage"? The hospital gave me a fabulous 30oz mug and it goes everywhere with me! I had surgery on April 30th and water is about all I can tolerate. The thought of choking down another protein shake makes my stomach roll. I do great with broths, but since there is limited nutritional benefit to those, I just count it as water intake.
  23. Finally home and on the losers side. Surgery was Tuesday, everything has gone really well. I expected to be in more pain, but this pales in comparison to the 3 c-sections that I've had. Did anyone else have to be on insulin post-surgery? Glad to be home!
  24. I can't wait to have a standard size towel wrap around me with excess! I am tired of using/buying bath sheets.
  25. Good luck tomorrow! I go in at 0630! Ready to have it over with, as I hate general anesthesia.
