onmywaytoskinny got a reaction from w106fox in is it safe to take Diet supplements after Gastric bypass?
Since surgery I really enjoy saying I don't need any of that stuff anymore surgery is better than any of that and is all that we need to get the weight off. Just follow what the surgeon and nutritionist ordered.

onmywaytoskinny got a reaction from Marla in 60g protein in 12 oz!
I also use this Protein. I have been splitting it up during the day. I either have 2 or three shakes a day. I've only had the vanilla. It tastes like cake batter. I add fruit to it In the morning and use the no surfer silk milk it's the best tasting protein that I have tried.

Hi I had my surgery on March 4th. Just had my 2 week check up I've lost 13 ponds since surgery and 30 pounds since starting liquid diet. I got the ok to start puréed foods. Does anyone have any puréed ideas they would like to share. I was doing well on the liquids but have been feeling very nauseous the last few days. Also could you please ad me to the group. Thanks:)

Wow your history sounds like mine. I had my surgery last Monday March 4th. I had RNY also. I'm so happy I had this surgery even though its been a hard week. It doesn't fix your mind. Keep plugging away at all of your Appointments and your surgery will be here before you know it. I can't believe I had mine a week ago. As for work they have to give you off for surgery. Don't worry!!! Keep in touch it would be great to have a weight loss buddy! Good Luck

onmywaytoskinny reacted to nienie in Day 3 post-op weenie.
First you are not a weenie! GBS is a big surgery and it hurts. I was in the hospital for three nights. I was very nauseated from the Fentanyl pain med I was giving and once i was switched to liquid hydrocodone I did much better. I cried the day I went home when they pulled out my God forsaken JP drains. So you are not alone.
I had some head hunger but was not hungry just thought about food mostly because I was limited to yogurt, Soup that was strained, Jello and pudding. Just drink as much as you can and get that Protein in. I lived on my pain elexir for the first week sleeping a lot because to be honest you don't sleep much in hospital. I also was unable to sleep in a bed so I had to sleep in a recliner which was a downer. I am a side sleeper and it hurt way to much to lay in the bed. Your left side is going to hurt. Once i got my stitches out on day 13 things went much better. My diet was upgraded to soft food, I could sleep in a bed, still sore but those darn stitches were no longer tugging at my skin. I still used hydrocodone at night and as needed. So hang in there it will get better.
I am now 7 weeks post op and I feel great. I was upgraded to regular food last week and have lost 37 pounds. So, it does get better. I no longer have any pain at all. You are on the mend each day will get better
