    Drain Tubes?

My sister had an extended hospital stay. I had a drain tube and removal was no big deal. Quick and easy.

    bought a bike yayyyyy

The phone app is Wahoo Fitness. It works for bikers and runners and works with the heart rate chest belt when walking. Can't get it to monitor HR when biking. Have to call tech support, but I have a Polar watch unit if I really want to do that. I like that you don't have to add a device to your bike wheel. I already have one of them for my Cateye unit that doesn't light up. The iPhone is very bright and readable.

    bought a bike yayyyyy

I bought a Raleigh Detour 4.5. It's a hybrid. I sit straight up. It's fast and comfortable. I could not find a Trek that fit me. This bike works great and has 24 gears. Raleigh used to make the original "English Racer".

    bought a bike yayyyyy

I started riding again. I am 7 weeks post op. have lost 24 pounds. I have a great app that runs on the iPhone that keeps track of average and max speed and time on the bike. Even shows a map of the route you cover.

    Scared to really start exercising

My Dr. also wants me to wait. I am two weeks post op and I walk a mile twice a day. I want to get on the eliptical or use the home gym with light weight. I'll stick with using 5lb dumbbells but its driving me crazy.

    Band to Bypass Buddy

Hi Everyone. I had a lap band done in 2009 and an RNY revision done May 13, 2013. Discharged after an overnight stay. My only complication was a throat and apparent prostate infection. Both were resolved with a short course of antibiotics. Can't wait to move to mushy foods tomorrow. To Still Misbehavin. I've had two cervical fusion operations: C5-C7 then C4-C5. Never had problems with that but as you state, the areas above and below the fusions start to deteriorate. My last surgery was six weeks prior the Rny. aA disk replacement C3-C4. It was supposed to be better than another fusion. I have had more issues with this than with any other surgery. Chronic pain and pinched nerve-like discomfort. If you can avoid all of that, good. Try cortisone injections first if you have more problems.
  11. Day 6 post op. 228 lbs on surgery day and 218lbs this morning. My fluid intake hasn't been difficult. I can get down 16 oz of crystal light in 30-45 min as long as its not cold. My sister who is 1 year out from RNY says I can take in more than she could at this stage. Getting the shakes down ok. Can do 11 oz in less than an hour, again as long as its not cold. I mix all liquids 50% out of the refrigerator with 50% room temperature. I'd like to hear about everyone's first mushy food. Was it eggs or yogurt or something else? Give me some suggestions.
  12. Thanks. By the way, I still have the drain in. They take it out next week during my first post op.
