  1. I had my surgery in Tacoma. Stayed a week and then drove home which is a 12 hour drive. We stopped every couple of hours so I could walk around for a few minutes. When we stopped to eat I had soup (chicken noodle and just ate the broth). But I also did not feel like eating much. Also take your pain meds with you just in case. Get mentally prepared for what you will be able to do and able to eat and you should be fine. Have fun.
  2. How would I go about getting ahold of medicare to see if my mom would be covered? Did they approve it before your surgery? I heard they do not approve ahead of time and you take your chances on whether they will cover it. Thanks
  3. yes I was weighed the morning of surgery.
  4. I have a card from my doctor for the resturants. I also go a medical alert bracelet that has the information on it and my doctors phone number, my doctor has somebody that monitors the phone 24/7. I got my bracelet from www.laurenshope.com . They have lots of pretty bracelets to choose from and some for men too.
  5. Way to go Crystal.......you are doing great. I have not even thought of trying on new clothes to see what size I am now. Maybe I should. Any way GOOD GOING.

    I am only 6 weeks post op and my doctor had me do a crunch to help locate my port on Monday when I had my first fill. So you should be able to do crunches, just take it slow at first.
  7. HI...I just got back from Tacoma last night. I had my first fill on Monday. My doctor will do after care on anybody but it might be a long way for you to go. Sorry, don't know anybody closer. Good Luck

    I live in Idaho also, but I had my surgery done in Tacoma, WA. There are 2 doctors in Boise who do the surgery but I am not sure if they do other doctors fills. Good Luck.

  12. One day when my daughter was 3, she burped. She covered her mouth with her hand and said "OH!! I farted out my mouth."
  13. I had 1 week post op appointment and then the next will be 6 weeks.
  14. Aleesia.......go to introductions and post a thread of your own and ask away.
  15. My dr says 1 cup a day if you can't live without it.
  16. My surgeon says 65 years old but says he does lots of tests on older people to decide. My Mom is 74 and he said he would test her and if all was well he would band her.
  17. Dr. Srikanth was my surgeon and Dr. Oh was the assistant, I think they do alot as a team. St. Frances was the hospital.
  18. My surgeon gave me liquid hydrocodone to take for pain after surgery.

  25. Good Luck Jenn........will be waiting to here how you do. The clear liquid was harder before surgery than after for me. I still do not feel hungry and just started the protein shakes twice a day. I have my 6 weeks check up in July and will get my first fill then.
