  5. Hi my name is Danny. I am 36 years old. I had Gastric Bypass surgery on July 3, 2012. I have lost 290 lbs but have fell off the wagon as of lately. I have fallen back into some old habits like eating bread and sweets. I could really use a mentor that has been post op for several years. I would love to have someone to help hold me accountable and help me get back on track. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  11. Hi my name is Danny Coleman and I am 33 years old. I have been obese my entire life for as long as I can remember. I began my weight loss journey at the weight of 527 lbs. I still do not understand how I was able to carry that much weight around everyday. I had the Rny Surgery done on July 3, 2012. I spent one night in the hospital and got to come home on July 4, 2012. What a holiday I declared my independence from this life of obesity. I am almost one year post op and I am now weighing in at 279.8 lbs and feeling so much better and healthier. I have recently rejoined the gym and working out 7 days a week and loving it. I am so happy I made the decision to have Rny and would recommend it in a minute because this has been the greatest decision next to accepting Jesus as my personal Saviour I have ever made in my entire life.. God bless you all I look forward to getting to know you all.

    protein problems

Do not give up! It will get better! The beginning is the hardest part. I will echo what others have said though Protein is necessary. So do whatever you have to do to get it down. You will be grateful that you did. I have seen the good and the bad of this surgery. And those who do not do their protein does not have good results. So please heed our advice and force the protein down. I had to stay on all liquids for 7 1/2 weeks so I can testify to the difficulty of it. But I made it through and now I am 7 months post op and doing great. Hope this helps. God bless you!

    Drain Tubes?

My surgeon did not use drain tubes. So not not all patients have them.
