Delicious Post Op treat

I have not tried these yet, but definitely will! My husband bought me no sugar added Italian ice. It comes in a box if 6, 3 lemon and 3 cherry. I prefer the lemon over the cherry, but they are both pretty good. They only have 1 gm of sugar in each. My surgery was Feb 25, so I am still on all clear liquids and protein. Get so tired of the same things all the time! Can't wait to be able to have more food.

    Skim milk

The sugar in milk is not like regular sugar. That is actually what the lactose is, milk sugar. If you are having problems with skim milk I would be very careful about any dairy product. You may be lactose intolerant.

Thank you all so much! I am so nervous and scared! I am so happy I found this app, I feel like I now have a much better support group! Friends mean well, but they judge whether they mean to or not.

    Protein Shakes?

I would suggest going to Vitamin World. They will let you try samples, they understand what we need to have pre and post surgery and are having a buy one get one half off sale right now. The sales person I spoke with put me right at ease and mixed 3 flavors for me to try. I had to to get used to the flavor, but I have only been on my protein shake for a week and I love it. They have a fruit punch, strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate. Although my surgeon said to avoid chocolate because people tend not to tolerate it well after surgery. You just mix one scoop with 8 oz of water 3-4 times a day. It has 31 grams of protein per 8 ounce serving, less than 1 gram sugar and 99% lactose free. It is whey protein isolate by procision engineeed. They also carry all the liquid and chewable vitamins we will need post surgery. And, unlike GNC, there is NO fee for their savings card. So all the savings are given to everyone for free! Please check them out, I got what we thought would be at least 250 for about 110. And I would definitely suggest getting a few blendy cups, they are a life saver! That is the one thing I did get from GNC. They were the only ones I found that carry the half size blendy cups, which do come in handy when you are on the go and have a lot to carry with you.

    Where is everyone from?

I am from Fort Campbell KY. Getting my RNY done on post at BACH. I love my surgeon, Dr. Shim. I am just so nervous because she ia scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan in March, so a lot of my follow ups will be with someone I don't know ans trust as I so her. But, such is military life. My surgery date is February 25th.

    new date

I know what you mean, I felt like I was never going to even get a date, and now my date is 11 days away! I am so scared and excited!! This is such a huge life change and I always have that little nagging voice I call my bad self worth that keeps saying that I will fail. I have my husband and friends giving me a great support system, now I just need to shut that other voice up!
