  1. I most certainly would. I was on 2000 Metformin a day plus a Byetta injection and four injections of Insulin. Now I'm on 1000 Metformin that's all and that might finish altogether as I lose more weight. I'm only on my sixth week after the op. I have more energy can walk further stairs do not pose a problem any more. I have taken pride now in how I dress I feel like a new woman. I am 60 yrs old and my dad died at 62 so I am hoping this will give me the extra years with my grandchildren.

    What ya eating tonight?

Well the only thing I find I can eat without too many issues is Shepherds/Cottage Pie Small one. Ready Brek/Petit Filou/Quavers and that's it at the moment. I have today ordered Weight Loss Surgery cookbook for Dummies off Amazon and I look forward to seeing what is possible. I'm coming up 6wks post op. Can anyone tell me how I get the weight tracker it looks really good?

    A few Days Post Op

awwww don't stress. I struggled with the third week onwards. My head was telling me pasta /toast/chicken but my stomach didn't like it at all. I get the feeling of food is stuck and get pain in my back (shoulder height.) So it pays to bide your time though it is annoying. The only thing I can say is liquidise what you want to eat that's the only way in the early weeks. I am now on my 6th week this weds and went to a 70th party last night and ate two pieces of quiche (hardly any pastry) about two chips and a few nibbles off a chicken nugget and I instantly knew it was no good. The only thing I can eat easily now is Shepherds/Cottage pie any supermarket small one and Ready Brek/Quaver crisps. At the end of the day the weight loss is all worth it. I have lost 2st 5lbs. Hang in there. If you go on amazon there are cook books there which might help.

    Almost There.....

I was like you excited one minute thinking of all the things I could do or buy after. If I was honest the worst bit was the two week Liver Shrinkage Diet. Don't cheat you have come this far and it is vital you do as you are asked. It helps them when they operate. I had my done on Feb 6th and strangely enough when I went in I became strangely calm and just wanted it to be over. Everything went well and I now post op. I can say it wasn't that painful after....of course they gave me pain medication and I was out i three days. Eating is a trial as you have to do it in stages. I think I'm trying to run before I can walk. But I will get there I can already do lots of things I couldn't before and it is only three weeks. I have lost two stone already. Good luck.....it is exciting. Regards

    Tell me what's up

Hi I am three weeks post op and from my experience it has been the best thing I have ever done. I paid for my operation and before I struggled with myself as to whether I should spend it or not. Now I can say Yes....yes...yes. I have lost two stone already and have been blown away as to the things I can now do. I can go down stairs like normal people not one foot then bring the other foot down to it. I can put boots on without any problems at all and its early days yet. With regards to the op I was 60 yrs old I had diabetes/cholestrol/sleep apoenia fybromyalgia. I used to 4 injections a day plus 2000mg Metformin. To date I haven't taken any diabetic medicine. I might need a tablet but we are waiting to see what happens as the weight drops off. I'd say go for it........ The worst bit is the 2 week liver shrinkage diet..Don't cheat because it is vital you do it. Your operation should be easier if you do it properly..mine did. Good luck it will all be worth it in the end
