They told me they will be able to check my sugar and cholesterol and that kind of stuff. If you are eating whatever you want and not sticking to the plan they will know by blood work and weight. Also my dr told me the diet would help shrink the liver so it's easier to see and maneuver during surgery.

I am almost 5 months post op an I'm down 79lbs... I had a stall for a while also..Doc says you gotta shock your system by switching up eating habits. Like if your on solids drink a protine shake all day for a couple days then go back to solid.. It worked for me..Wow! 79 lbs! I'm jealous! That's a great idea! Ill have to remember that!

Anyone else going to the Journey Clinic in Moore, OK with Dr Nelson? The Moore Medical Center where the office was located has been destroyed by the tornado. Not really sure where to go from here. I hope Dr Nelson and her staff are safe!

Congrats! You look amazing! Keep up the good work!

Just to make sure you aren't deficient in anything mostly. They also can tell if you have been following your diet properly.

I went through it as well...now I am losing about 2 to 4 lbs per week..I'm 4 months post op I have lost 59lbs. Total. ..half way there...protein Protein protein! Oh and also Vitamin D helps during the weight loss. ..so take your Vitamins daily <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />I'm so glad you posted this! Hey Khaw' date=' has your stall gone away? I'm 5 weeks and have lost 14.5 pounds. It seems really slow since I hadn't surgery April 15th. Just wondering if you're seeing the scale move yet. I need encouragement.[/quote']
Sorry I'm just now seeing your post! Yes! I started losing some! It looks like I'm going to lose about 2-3 lbs every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. I'm hoping once I start lifting weights it will start to come off more! There is no way we can possibly not lose weight! I've started watching my salt intake closely and upped the Protein. We can't stress about it or else our body won't let the weight go. The loss will come just keep with it! I had surgery March 26. I started at 244 and today I weighed 216.

Have you tried baked ricotta? Or crustless quiche? I've made both and they were good.http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=2438931

The ricotta recipe doesn't say how much of each ingredient to use. I'd love to try making it !

So' date=' I went shopping last night, and went down the coffee isle, for the smell. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> When I hit the Creamer I found some flavoring Syrup, with nothing in it, no calories, no sugar, no nada. It was in hazelnut, caramel, french vanilla, and another flavor that I don't remember.I got the hazelnut and this morning made a Protein shake, with my Protein Powder, it's vanilla whey isolate with 60g of Protein for 2 scoops, A table spoon of SF chocolate syrup, and A splash of the hazelnut flavoring, and it was AMAZING! It was super tasty and didn't have the protein aftertaste.[/quote']
Which protein are you using that has 60 g of protein!?

I also used light ricotta.

72 calories, 3g carbs, 3g fat, 5g Protein, 60mg sodium and 3g sugar per serving. The recipe makes 12 servings=12 muffins. It would be nice if it had more protein but for a sweet craving I think it's better than a lot of other things I'd like to grab for!

I can't tell you how relieved I am to know I'm not alone in my slow progress!
