  1. My tummy is getting pretty squishy. No thanks to stretch marks from my two lovely children either. Between that, the weight loss, and the squishy; it's quite a sight :heh:
  2. I'm with MM. I want to get one but I'm worried about the correct size. I'm so short that I usually have to get a bigger size because of my weight. JLB - what store sells the Spanx? I've found them on the internet but would like to look and touch one in person. Oh and if you use the internet - use shopzilla.com to search out the cheapest price! It's amazing what range they can come up with. I found some for $25 up to $50
  3. I went to Dr. Spivak in Houston, but I live in McKinney (North of Dallas). I don't know why I haven't stumbled onto this thread before. Nice to meet everyone!
  4. I took it easy w/ a slim fast tonight. Since I seem to be tighter in the mornings lately, then I will do a drink for breakfast as well. Other than that, I'm going to make sure I'm REALLY chewing like I'm supposed to Thanks for your comments - I want to avoid a reply of today if possible.
  5. That is the ultimate goal - to look more like Him than ourselves! It's a lifelong jouney - I only wish I had started it sooner. I was young and didn't "actively" try to grow until I was 30. Such a waste. But, it did finally bring my husband to the Lord as well as both of my children shortly after him. Hugs & Prayers to all! Geneva <><
  6. I believe I have the same one from WalMart. I know it wasn't over $50. They had some that were and I think they carry the Weight Watchers official scale. I like my scale because it's digital. I want every 10th of a pound to show - it keeps me motivated. I don't rely on the Water and the fat numbers. They seemed a little too iffy. Good luck to you!
  7. Aren't you sweet Thanks for the compliment. I actually should be higher in my opinion. I still haven't started exercising which would make a much bigger difference. (I don't like to sweat ) I'll be starting soon now. I'm getting close to when it will start to come off slower and I will need to do ALL of my part to help the band succeed.
  8. I had no results with it. It's expensive for it to not work. I had thin hair to begin with but it is MUCH thinner now. For about the last month I've been losing a handful each morning (such a tragedy). There are several hair threads on here and we have been reassured that the hair will grow back in time. Just how much time we don't know. Good luck with your hair!
  9. I can totally relate I was miserable forever after I was banded. My kids, too, are obsessed with pooh. It's all funny to them.
  10. Thanks for y'alls thoughts. I have never met the lady but I will try to pass on a message asking for some clarification.
  11. Yea for you!! Just a little more patience and you will soon have a surgery date! Good luck on your banding journey!
  12. Someone posted (and please forgive me because I don't remember who) that they would exhale completely, tilt their head back slightly and then swallow. I actually did this for my last fill so that I wouldn't burp so much that they would say they had to take some back out. I am nice and snug now
  13. Ok, so my pastor's wife has a friend that has the lap-band. Her advise to me was to "watch my personals" and that I would know what that means. Ok I've been banded almost 5 months and I have No Stinkin' Clue what she's talking about. Anyone know?
  14. I just caught the last episode of this one but I LOVE the biggest loser! I like the off season shows as well, they are a little shorter. Can you really rent the previous seasons? I would so love to see them. The inspiration is just amazing!
  15. Ugh - I had my first PB I ate the same thing yesterday just fine! I experienced my first sliming episode last week. I guess I started getting complacent on the rules and not chewing like I should. How long should I stay on liquids after a PB?
  16. I had my first PB today :cry I tried for 45 minutes to just stay with stuck and spit like a mad woman. I just started getting stuck last week for Breakfast when I would choose poorly. Today (after #4 fill) I got stuck on egg whites and turkey sausage. Anyway, during the attempt, I felt it change and knew that I was no longer going to be able to keep it in. I have to say that this felt more like ralphing than what I had heard of a PB. Lost everything I ate which wasn't much. I am on liquids for the rest of the day. (Should I also do liquids tomorrow?) I hate throwing up - makes me cry every time :think I'm so good at NOT throwing up that I can't remember doing it since my son was born 14 years ago. Oh well, it wasn't as bad as I expected and I survived it. I will certainly chew better from now on!!
  17. I started with Fitday.com. I purchased their download which I like much better. I can set goals, daily food, weigh ins, exercize and all sorts of stuff. I'm addicted to tracking it all now. (Someday I may actually have some exercise to record hmmm I have GOT to get off the couch ) Good luck to you on your band journey!! :bounce:
  18. Amazing results. You look absolutely stunning!! Yea for you and I wish you a speedy recovery!
  19. Oh - and I haven't touched a soda since a week before my surgery. I gave up my true love - Diet Coke. I am self-pay so I didn't want to do anything to jeapordize my results. Seems like I would eat better and exercize too, huh? I'm working on it - lol or I'm gettin' 'round to it hehehe
  20. At 3 months I had lost 30 pounds exactly. I have yet to start exercising (I know - very bad of me). I have occassionaly gone for a bike ride (not exercise - nice and leisurely) and gone for walks (again leisurely). That is more active than I was but certainly not what I would consider exercise. I have eaten just about whatever I want. I have stayed away from soft breads, popcorn, and limited my sweets. I just went for my 4th fill; I have been fussed at to stop eating tortillas and french fries. I have really good restriction so I wouldn't even attempt either of them at this point. Good luck to you on your journey!!
  21. I just had labs 2 weeks ago and they checked all my numbers. I wasn't deficient in anything which is unusual for me. I've always been a tad anemic and I wasn't anymore I bought the Vitamins from bariatricadvantage that are for people with the lap band (vitaband, I think). They are loaded with stuff, yet I'm still losing the hair.
  22. welcome back TXfella!! Congrats on your success!! WOW! I'm from McKinney (North of Dallas). What part are you from?
  23. before my last fill I was tighter in the morning than the rest of the day. I could eat tortillas in the morning and would slime for an hour. If I ate the same thing for lunch or dinner I wouldn't have any trouble. I was just filled 2 days ago and I have great restriction. I eat very little before getting full. It really just helps to slow down on the eating (I know - sometimes that's really hard to do when we get SO hungry). I do pause between bites now to "check" how things are going before putting in the next bite. I know that I need to just listen to my body more rather than my stomach or head when it comes to food. Good luck to you!
  24. I wasn't overly hungry before my first fill except for about a week before. I was extremely worried about eating something "bad" and hurting my band. I ate really slow and chewed a ton even if I didn't feel like I needed to. Eating that slow tells your brain that your full before you eat too much. You can make it through this recovery time! Good luck on your new journey
