  1. Hello SFEINER and BLESTE!! Bleste - I don't know anyone in NC so I'm sorry to be of no help. Please know that if you are on this thread that you will be prayed for!! Sfeiner - I used to read everything on this website but now I choose carefully where to enter and what I want to read. I have seem some of those rants and chose not to respond either. We are told to not argue so I don't even go there. If you are in the rants & raves section then there's no telling what you will see - I choose VERY carefully what I want to read. If I get offended, then I don't go back to that thread rather than joining the frucus (sp?). As for the people, they are genuinely nice and caring and have provided a great amount of advice on these boards. We are to hate the sin, not the sinner I pray that God may bless each one of us today for His honor and glory. wombat (geneva)
  2. I have been to NO support meetings. I only attended the seminar meeting because you must. I did all the research I could do before hand and got to talk personally with representatives from TrueResults when they came to our company's health fair. My only support has come from my family and this website. I would be lost without the guidance of the wonderful people who are walking this path and sharing it with me on this site.
  3. I told mine everything. Boy 14 and girl 10. I gave them all the details that I had. I told them what I wouldn't be able to eat and that I'd be on liquids, mushie food and then back to reg. food. They had no surprises; obviously they were concerned and maybe a little worried. Mostly they just wanted to feed me a bunch of bad stuff that I'll never have again. I think I gained 5 pounds the last week before surgery
  4. Welcome Dan!!!! Congratulations on your date being so near The Father will watch over you, protect you and keep you. You are in my prayers! Cqqlgrl - that was beautiful - thanks for posting that. So many times I just need the reminder to let go and let God. Hugs and prayers! Wombat (Geneva) <><
  5. Mine are really lose - all except for my wedding set. It is now comfortable. The huge divet in my finger has subsided and it fits like it should I can actually get it off and on without using soap as a lubricant. Last year my DH bought me a cute ring for my other hand. I now wear it on my middle finger but it actually fits my pointer finger. It has free resizing so I'm about to take it in.
  6. I love Dr Spivak but I really wish I lived closer or had chosen a dr close to me. I really would like to go to the support groups and stuff Ah well ... I guess after my "free" year is up, I'll find someone local so I don't have to keep trekking down to Houston - that drive is a killer! (I'm North of Dallas).
  7. I too have been on Aciphex for a long time. I quit taking after I was banded but after about a month my heartburn came back. I started taking it again and I don't have any issues. The Aciphex is a little yellow pill about the size of small eraser so I haven't had trouble taking it. I'm really tight in the mornings now so I can feel it when I do take the pill but I gotta have it
  8. Thanks for the link!! That looks like fun I'm gonna have to start lookin for some DVDs!
  9. I agree - the psych person doesn't sound right at all. I didn't have to go through an eval but I think that is because I'm self pay. I too would have failed then on being close to my family (some of them anyway) and being impulsive. What a crock - what has that got to do with being successful with the band? Good luck to you!! {{hugs}}
  10. I think most of us feared that it would not work for us. Clearly everything else we have tried in the past didn't work so will this really be the ONE? I am beyond happy with my band and SOOOO relieved that it does work
  11. Ok - I'm gonna ask (please forgive my ignorance) WASABB - I looked at the link and I still don't know which one is the sleeve. It doesn't use that terminology and from the sound of it I don't see anything that I would have visualized the sleeve being. I too wanted adjustable and reversable - we never know what life will bring us later on. I don't want to be old and not be able to get nutrition when I need it and in my mind the band alleviates that issue. wombat
  12. Mine is in the center just under my ribs. It is not in a comfy place. If I lay on the floor and get to flat I can feel it. If I start slouching, my bra slides down and annoys it. I (clears throat) um can feel it during sex because it is so nicely popping against my ribs (I will be sore the next day). Anyway, I wouldn't opt for the spot that I have; I wasn't aware that I could choose and I would probably go for one to the side of the belly button, but waist bands could be annoying. But, now that I've lost some weight, I have found that I LOVE low-rise jeans and stuff Good luck to you!!!
  13. Woohooo!!!!!! :whoo: wombat
  14. I get my fill based on how much I can eat. I've had 4 so far and wonder when my next is going to be. I'm not eating a lot right now, I am sliming every other day or so, I've now had 2 PB's (the last one was spectacular in the parking garage at work) and I'm not losing weight. You have to listen to your own body and what it's trying to tell you. If you are HUNGRY then you probably need a fill. That's what I tell them when they tell me I'm still losing weight - I explain that it's only will power and that I'm HUNGRY so they give it to me Good luck to you!
  15. it doesn't take me long 10-15 min; maybe 20 if I'm REALLY trying to slow down. I just don't have that kind of restriction. I generally don't take the small bites that we are supposed to either. I think I just need a good tight fill
  16. WOW!! What a difference You look so slim and trim!!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery! wombat
  17. awwee - I'm so sad to hear that you are running into another hurdle. You must have the patience of Job at this point with all the trials you have been having. You are most definitely in my prayers!! wombat
  18. Welcome Angelsma!! So glad to see people coming to this thread; I was on here for several months before I found it. It was easy enough to find the alternative life styles/pagan religions etc so I do count this thread as a tremendous blessing!! Geneva (wombat) <><
  19. "I'm breaking through a little..plus I go to doc tomorrow, hopefully for a long-overdue fill. I also start a second day of Zumba this week!" Please forgive the silly question, but what is Zumba?
  20. Hello LapBandFan!! I'm so sorry to hear about your father! My prayers are most definitely with you Dear Heavenly Father, I bring LapBandFan before you Father and ask that You supply her with Your infinite Grace and Mercy. Give her the ability to control her emotions and eating Father, with you as the guide and providing comfort the comfort that she truly needs. Her father is ill and we know that You are the one in control and that all you do and allow works for good. We lean not unto our own understanding but that your will be done. We pray all this in your most prescious name, Jesus Christ. Amen. wombat (Geneva) <><
  21. This has been absolutely one of the best decisions of my life. I am self pay ($13,000). I got a medical loan (horrid interest) to pay for it. I went through my budget (I'm a little OCD) and with the food savings and other little tweaks I could do, we determined that we could afford the payments. I'll have to look it up but there was a website that said having the band would save you $15,000 in one year. I will find that and post it here. I absolutely wish you the best!! I only wish I could have done this sooner! Hugs & Prayers, Geneva
  22. Woohoo Sweety!!!!! :clap2::whoo::whoo::clap2:
  23. Can I just say that I LOVE this thread?!?! It brings me such Joy and uplifts my heart everytime I read it. Thank you all brothers and sisters in Christ!! May God pour out His abundant blessings on each of us today! Geneva <><
