    Feeling overwhelmed.

When any one talks down to U regardless of who they are There are two ways to deal with this type of person 1.Respond in such a sweet & humble manner This will totally show up the behavior 2.Respond with Im sorry I'm having difficulty in understanding your meanness ? Name the behavior eg meanness rudeness tactless hurtful comments Face the Bully No Matter what & what's really important There r plenty of people out there who are Plain straight out NOT NICE Or take someone along with U as a support person if they still behave badly at least someone else can witness the Behavior & U can both leave together & Go OMG or what the heck...!!! What matters your on the road to a healthy U Always Be the Best U & Be the Better Person Keep Taking Good Care of U :-) Wishing u all the best with your WLS Journey

I think people do the best they can ! Choosing WLS is a massive choice it's not a magic wand that will keep weight off for the rest of your life as u have to work it ! There are many components to WLS being a success 1.Following the rules of a pouch if u had a Gastric Bypass which was my Choice The Rules of the pouch *Eat Protein first *No snacking *No Grazing *Taking Vitamins daily *Exercise Daily *To not drink 30mins Before eating & 60mins after eating *To not have more than 10g of Sugar per 100g *To not have more than 5g of Fat Sorry people don't know imperial measurements grew up with metric 2.Dealing with your mind your self talk 3.Having to resolve issues from the past that can come up as a result of u have taking away your copying or self soothe strategy (FOOD) 4.Having to face New challenges with Family and Friends 5.To tell or not tell about your choice with the WLS surgery procedure u had 6.to have other people SHAME U or worse to have other WLS surgery people to do that to U 7.To learn how to maintain yourself as a priority when u may not Have in the past 8. Plus life will dish out all sorts of Highs & Lows & can u maintain all of the above If your facing the fact someone u love has gone of the rails, got sick, left u or died Life will give u some hard times & some people will be able to maintain it all & Most of Us won't If any of Us find our self in the camp where we are drowning as a result of life or it could be JUST OURSELF getting in the way & we have let go of the Pouch rules My hope is my fellow WLS people will reach out a hand to me & give me moral support to slowly put 1 rule back in place until they are all firmly back in tact again Just some food for thought ☀

  14. When someone loses weight, gets a better education, has more money, moves to a better area, drives a flasher car...It's called Status and suddenly you are perceived as being more Successful ! There are plenty of people who don't want u to do better or to improve your self. When someone is moving up in there life, your Status ranking has changed. This can challenge so called family and friends because it means they will have to make more effort either with there weight or there behaviour toward 's you. As you will be perceived as having more options. Beautiful slim people are perceived as having preferential treatment. So many people think WLS is a magic and easy way to weight loss. It isn't U still have to work at it !!! The only way u can gain weight after WLS is by not sticking to the rules I am 5years out i have gained 14kg in less than a year my personal life has been a mess so i am sorting that out plus working on getting rid of the weight gain

  17. Don't Give up on you! It's your body your choice So many people are anti WLS I am sure that was really hurtful to think u had the support Often our nearest & dearest can be afraid that u might change Write down all the reason's why your choosing Health & Life If your feeling down look at it or come here for support Just remember YOUR CHOOSING LIFE

    The Beginning

Hi There Glad to meet u ???? Thank u for sharing your story !
  22. Hi There 10years ago SO TRUE I had my surgery 5years ago I agree this forum it is Amazing !!! I have had regain with my weight 13kgs 28lbs to be exact if I was to list all the stressful events I simply buckled I just went back to what I always did under stress I picked up food obviously not High Volume but Grazing & drinking A Soy Latte a day didn't help & sometimes 2 a day. I have never drunk alcohol so that was never a problem. I picked up the coffee habit to get thru the work day & having to care for my only son who is now doing OK living with CML Leukemia He's 22 & I am amazed by his attitude. He is a total inspiration Never complains when he's in pain So here I am learning how to take care of me as i seem to have a life filled with drama & stress So it's all back to follow the rules I would love some support All I can say to the Newbie's Having surgery is the Best choice I made & getting back on track has taken more effort than I expected But I'm not a quitter would love support !

    Surgery was 2/4/13

Hi There, I'm 5years post op & i never thought i would be in the re-gain stage It's really simple in how I got here Head hunger & not dealing with my own emotional issues as to the real reason why I was Obese. So here I am having to do New approach that in all truth I never wanted to face all this stuff I thought WLS was a cure all I simply want to share that it's something one has to constantly work At. I'm going to start my own thread cause this has not been Easy!
