Surgery was 2/4/13

I'm Amy! I had surgery on Monday and came home from hospital Saturday....

I had my first crying meltdown today of why did I i do this?!? I HATE Protein shakes... My nutritionist is not the greatest .... When did u all start the purée part of diet ? How many weeks out ? I think once I can do that I'll feel better...

I know on my paper during that stage I can purée chicken with light mayo.

Any advice is very welcomed!!

Amy

Depends on what your doctor and nutritionist deems your ready, I had gb on Jan 21 and still on liquid diet ! I feel that way sometimes too bc u want to eat and u can't follow the orders don't cheat bc we made a lifetime and life changing decision that we would change to live so it's okay your not the only one Amy, I'm Blanca

Day seven....liquids for six. Surgery on the morning and about no gnaw my arm off!!!!!

HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 241.6

I had my surgery on the 4 th also. I had to do a 7 day preop liquid diet. I went home on the 6 th and have been on a soft food diet. I am ably to have turkey, chicken, shrimp, fish and crab. Tuna also. It is so strange how everyone is doing so many different post op diets.

Oh lucky you , still on liquid diet post op , had surgery Jan 21

I was shocked to see so many post op people still on liquid diets.

Me too! I was on Clear liquids only 1 week post op then changed to full liquids for 2nd week post op, then to pureed for a week, now on to soft solid foods :) I am allowed to introduce whole grain now, but would rather steer clear from breads the first 6 months, if not forever.

Lucky you two are eating solids, I'm on liquid no puree food all liquids only , baby food, broth ,cream soups, g2 ...can't wait to bite into some food lol

Lucky you: I had surgery on 2/4 also and I'm on clear liquids still till Thursday 2/14 that they will hopefully advance me to purée. Good luck on your diets. :)

Um guys, I'm 9 weeks out and still on liquids. Its not easy nor fun, but look at the big picture--at the end it will all be sooooo worth it, just relax and before u know it the "chewing" stage will come.

I know it will and I know the benefits , there's a reason all of us got it and that's to be healthier, trust me I know eventually we will come to that stage , it's called head hunger and yeah long journey to fixing issues that we all had with food

living life for me and my future DOS JAN 21,2013:

I agree! Head hunger is my biggest issue tight now.

Hi There,

I'm 5years post op & i never thought i would be in the re-gain stage It's really simple in how I got here Head hunger & not dealing with my own emotional issues as to the real reason why I was Obese. So here I am having to do New approach that in all truth I never wanted to face all this stuff

I thought WLS was a cure all I simply want to share that it's something one has to constantly work At.

I'm going to start my own thread cause this has not been Easy!
