  1. I second the support group idea. It is hard for people to know what you are going through that haven't been through it. Which is why they become distant and jealous. WLS still has the stigma of being the 'cheaters' way out. I wouldn't put much emphasis on it. Find something else to occupy your time. Whether it be family night, hanging out at home watching a movie, or window shopping at a local mall. Another thing is pamper yourself. Go get your nails done or your hair done. Do something for you.
  2. All insurance is different. Your best answer would be to either call your insurance company, or call the place your having your surgery done and see if they would know.
  3. Wow! That is a ton of weight in such a short amount of time! I just can't wait to jump in there ya know.
  4. how was your seminar?
  5. That is great...I need to get back into exercising. I am waiting to start my supervised diet before I really start anything.
  6. How far are you out from your surgery? That does seem like a ton
  7. I know that this will play a huge role in our weight loss journey. I am curious to know how will you do yours? Will you get a gym membership, exercise at home, or join a class of some kind?
  8. Congrats Keep us posted
  9. What protein shakes/powders do you think taste the best?
  10. Gosh, I didn't think about the Phentermine. I was on it for a year (yep that is a long time) and stopped taking it last December.
  11. If things go well, I am hoping to have my surgery over the summer, which would make my lil one around 20lbs and 16months. I don't see myself being able to not pick him up or hold him for 6 weeks. Just isn't fesible.
  12. What do you do when your friends want to hang out, or while your at home on a lazy day? While your watching tv? The more I think about things, the more I realize how much I incorporate food into almost every activity...so how do you feel the void?
  13. What will be the weight/lift restriction after the surgery and for how long?
  14. well, I guess I will chew the heck out of it now and stick to coffee.
  15. Hi there. I haven't had my surgery, but I do have a lil one. I think the thing that will stink the most is not getting to pick him up for a few weeks while I recover. But it will be worth it to be able to do things with him that I can't because of my size.
  16. Can a person still chew gum after RNY? Between that and my coffee-it is my life!!
  17. Thanks for replying! I have to see a nutritionist for 6 months. Not sure what goes on during that.
  18. Hello all. I am 28 from Illinois. I am just starting out and go to my first informational appt on the 16th. I am 270 lbs with a bmi of 42. I would love to keep in contact with people that have gone through the process.
  19. I guess I can eat a ton of chicken salads

  21. yeah with the points, I am doing that now-but with the holidays it went to hell
  22. You have to do what is right for you. 2 years is a long time, but in retrospect not really.
  23. I guess it won't be too terrible as long as they take in your food preferences
