My surgeon said If you have Gerd or Acid Reflux that the Vertical Sleeve Revision is not an option to choose. I agree the research on RNY has far out weighed that of the Sleeve Surgery, and the results of weight loss are greater with this surgery then the other two.

cathyh got a reaction from Cherry in 8 Days Post Op, 1st Follow up appt with Dr. Today
Great Appt this morning, Dr. very pleased with my progress, incisions look really good, I can now do exercises like Treadmill. Exercise Bike, all cardio I must wait until after week 3, still no lifting over 10 pounds for 2 weeks then nothing over 20 pounds for another 2 weeks. He started me on all my Vitamins today too. I was down 14.5 pounds since surgery, that's the excess fluids from the hospital plus 10 more pounds. Yay I'm so excited, never ever have I ever achieved that when dieting ever. He told me to continue full liquids and then switch to puréed soft next week for 2 weeks then on to normal foods, I can't wait.

All that gas I had finally made my body give in and a BM was achieved. I feel so much better now. Just a little gas left.

Well first off Congrats to you, and enjoy your Journey. I know for me I am on liquids after surgery for 1 to 2 weeks, Water, Jello, broth, SF Popsicles ect, then soft foods like cottage cheese, Refried Beans, puddings, Cream Soups for a few weeks, then work my way into normal foods gradually. I can only eat 1/4 cup at a time when on liquids, soft foods and normal foods.

The long process is almost over, Insurance just approved me and I am scheduled for surgery next Tues April 23rd. I am so ready for this journey to start.

Now the wait is on. My Final Dr. Appointment is done, Doctor approved my surgery and sent off for Insurance approval. Hope I hear soon, it's been a long 9 months. My Doctor said their is no way Insurance can reject my surgery approval again, as we have met all requirements and jumped through all their hoops. I hope my approval comes as quick as my first denial was.
