I had to do a preop diet beforehand so I could reduce my fatty liver. I know a bunch of people on here did as well. My doctor also said that its sorta to prove that you're in it for the long run if you're able to loose beforehand.

I had to do liquids for two weeks to reduce my liver and to get me used to diet changes. No lb. Requirement but I lost twenty no problem.

I didn't have to lose weight before surgery. Though I know some surgeons require it and some insurance companies do as well. I ended up losing weight before surgery though just in diet changes.

I'm doing my preop diet now. liquids and sf Jello for 2 weeks prior. No lb requirement specifically, but I figure to shoot for at least 10 lbs lost which seems to be what most doctors want. It's mostly to shrink the liver, to keep you from gaining weight, or to prove that you can commit to something this life changing.

I used to LOVE Cherry berry Chillers so I just checked their website for nutrition facts... the small one is 200 calories, 49g sugar and 49 carbs... for me that's no go

I had a few rounds but a spear was after 2 months because of the skin.

My surgeon here in so cal gave me all meds in liquid form...pain med lortab...zantac to prevent acid...and ursidol to prevent gallstones...im sure if you ask pharmacy they can give it to yoy...

Oh I thought we had to continue to crush our meds forever. I am 3 months post op so does that mean I can just take my pills without crushing them now? and do we still have to drink those horrible Protein Shakes?

I'm 4 months out and after surgery I was taken off my metformin I still taken blood pressure medicine but now I have no problem swallowing them

Do the painkillers come in liquid form? Crushed vicodin would taste horrendous with all the tylonol in it =/

I am scared to drink soda. Water is fine with me. I used to drink prob 6 mountain dews a day but no more. I am so afraid of messing up. I refuse to fail this time!!

I was a huge mountain dew drinker. The other day I had an Arnold Palmer half n half free. Totally hit the spot. Def try one of them

I feel like i could kill for a soda, im dying to get one and just chug it bit i know i cant. that was one of my weaknesses before surgery and im going crazy! How do i get past this?

Opps forgot to suggest meals...sexy shrimp scampi is a good one and can be found on the internet.
the campbells website has good chicken and Soup recipes.
Chili is good. Pasta e fagoli with ground beef is good. I added the with ground beef because many Pasta e fagoli recipes are vegetarian.

By my 7th week I was basically eating everything. My pouch has tolerated food very well. I know what you mean about variety. I didn't have a restricted solid food phase. Every doctor/program is different. Right or wrong I'm basically eating normal just a lot less.
