  1. I have a term life policy that I was hoping to replace. I've had it for 30 years and the premiums have increased drastically. Since I have no health problems, I didn't think it would be a problem to get another term life policy. They had me do a lot of blood tests. I'm petty sure everything was good. The agent called me the other day "surprised" that the company had jacked the quoted price up by 185%. He said it was because of the gastric bypass surgery. Have others had this problem? Does anyone know of a life insurance company that will insure gastric bypass patients. My health is good. I'm really surprised.

    back in the hospital

Kat, You're in my prayers. I hope they get everything under control soon and that you feel better.
  3. crazycatlady8, thanks for posting this. I feel the same. I'm only doing liquids, but they don't seem to feel me up. I'm not really hungry but thought when I sipped on a can of cream of celery Soup (with scoop of Protein powder) that I should feel "okay, enough .... but I don't". I can consume the whole can - although I do it slowly. Is that normal? .

    Fabulous February!

Hi. My surgery date is Monday, Feb. 18. I am so excited and ready for this. I'm sort of nervous though. I had my stomach stapled (?VBG) back in 1989 or 1990. It didn't work - obviously. (I know 2 other people that had that surgery. It didn't work for them either.) I'm so hopeful that I'm successful this time. I've been told that this surgery has evolved - and is MUCH IMPROVED compared to the old procedure. I know 4 people that have had gastric bypass within the last few years and they ALL lost major amounts of -weight. The pre-op education is entirely different. There was none the first time I had surgery. Has anyone else had their VGB revised to Gastric Bypass? There's probably another forum where I should be typing this. I did want to "get on the list". Good luck to everyone ... I'm so ready!!!
