Hello everyone. I really need some help and advice. I am 4 yrs post gastric bypass rny. I had no regain up until this winter. I put on 30# and I am feeling like a failure. I'm in a state of depression because I am so mad at myself. Any advice how to get back on tract would be much appreciated. I did the 5 day pouch reset several times and it never worked. For those of you that have been here what did you feel and what did you do to get back on tract.

You're absolutely right. Maybe I got a little carried away but I've always hated to see anyone being mistreated. It really annoys me but I also have to remember to keep others in mind...

When I approached Alex Brecher to ask him to form this Regain/Back on Track forum, it was out of sheer need for me. I am 3 years post op and have struggled with a serious amount of regain and having a heck of a hard time losing it.
Please keep in mind that whoever we all are, wherever we are in the world etc., we may not have access to support groups, therapists, or even our surgeon. In my case, I moved and had to leave behind my surgeon, family doctor, support group and everything familiar. We all have different stories and cases that make our regain as individual as our original weight-loss-surgery stories.
Please remember to be kind and gracious to each other as this group is all that some of us HAVE in the form of therapy or support.

At least I know why the pouch reset didn't work. I need to get back to just dense Protein. It's almost like I forgot what the basics are. Thank you for your advice.

My doctor is checking my thyroid. It's sad to say but I have let myself fall off the track a little. I'm going through a lot of stress as I am working full time and in college for my master degree in nursing. I stopped making me a priority. Thanks for the advice.

I had a stricture at 4 weeks post op and had to have it dilated open. They did it at the same time they did my endoscope and it was no big deal at all. I could not even tell that I had anything done and I was able to eat the same things I was eating before. It was nothing at all. Try not to worry about it.

I agree with others on here that I am also sorry you were judged. I do not think anyone should be on here and be degrading other people. This is meant to support one another, offer help and advice, and be honest. Lets all face it this is not an easy thing to do and I admire everyone person who decides to have this surgery done. It takes a strong person to go through this so we should all pat ourselves on the back. I applaud you Hippy girl for your honesty and admitting your faults to everyone on here. Keep up your efforts and know that you have the support from many of us on here.

You really do need to write a blog or do a recipe book. I just love reading all of your foods you make. I can't wait until I can eat more of them. You have no ideal how much you help people on here with your great recipes. I just want to say thanks, because you have given me so many yummy options.

I love the reaction I get from people when they learn I have had gastric bypass.....the look on their face is priceless......a lady today told me that there was no way I was ever big enough to have the surgery......I told her that apparently the surgeon thought 250lbs was big enough! What an idiot!!! People are so dumb! I really do love sharing my story and educating people on this wonderful tool!

Hello all! I have tried several diets and excercise all that have given me little to know success. I finally hit the highest weight that I have ever been and it was that moment that I realized I have to do something about it. So here is where I will begin my weight loss journey. I have had my initial consult, attended seminar had dietarty appt. Now I just have final wrap up appt and I will go over all of my blood test on that day also. I am very close to getting to surgery. All of this has scared me into reality, that this is really going to happen.I have been wanting this surgery for 5 years and now I am so ready for this. Can any of you please tell me your story's about recovering and what it was like immediately after surgery. That is what I am so worried about. I would love all of comments and experiences that you have had. I really appreciate any support that you guys could give me. I am planning on having RNY in the end of december or early January. I can't wait to look forward to hearing from you all. Thanks.
