  2. I am in the same boat and need help and support. I will weigh in and post tomorrow as well. I am joining you in this as well. I need help and support.
  3. My doctor is checking my thyroid. It's sad to say but I have let myself fall off the track a little. I'm going through a lot of stress as I am working full time and in college for my master degree in nursing. I stopped making me a priority. Thanks for the advice.
  4. At least I know why the pouch reset didn't work. I need to get back to just dense protein. It's almost like I forgot what the basics are. Thank you for your advice.
  5. Hello everyone. I really need some help and advice. I am 4 yrs post gastric bypass rny. I had no regain up until this winter. I put on 30# and I am feeling like a failure. I'm in a state of depression because I am so mad at myself. Any advice how to get back on tract would be much appreciated. I did the 5 day pouch reset several times and it never worked. For those of you that have been here what did you feel and what did you do to get back on tract.
  6. I had a stricture at 4 weeks post op and had to have it dilated open. They did it at the same time they did my endoscope and it was no big deal at all. I could not even tell that I had anything done and I was able to eat the same things I was eating before. It was nothing at all. Try not to worry about it.

  8. I do the same thing and I love the Healthy Choice frozen Greek Yogurts. You are right the portion size is perfect and they taste great!!
  9. I was told that 2 Flinestone vitamins twice a day is all I needed. I had my 3 month post op last week and my labs were all perfect. I actually bought the Walmart version of Flinestones and obviously they are working for me.
  10. I drink the muscle milk, one shake daily with no problems at all. They have 20 grams of protein.
  11. I used Gas X chewables right after surgery with no problems at all. I actually tried the strips and they did not work nearly as well as the chewables did. I also had to sleep in my lazy boy for about the first 2 weeks.
  12. What online websites do people use to purchase bariatric foods?? I am looking for some ideas for helping me get my protein in.
  13. I agree with others on here that I am also sorry you were judged. I do not think anyone should be on here and be degrading other people. This is meant to support one another, offer help and advice, and be honest. Lets all face it this is not an easy thing to do and I admire everyone person who decides to have this surgery done. It takes a strong person to go through this so we should all pat ourselves on the back. I applaud you Hippy girl for your honesty and admitting your faults to everyone on here. Keep up your efforts and know that you have the support from many of us on here.
  14. I just had balloon dilation this past Friday. I was about 4 weeks out. I could not eat any solids and liquids did hurt also. Right after my dilation the GI doctor told me I could resume eating soft foods. I have felt so much better since the dilation. I can now eat more, drink without pain and I actually am starting to feel somewhat normal. Get the dilation was nothing and I am so glad they did it. Hang in there you will feel better.
  15. I had the same problem at 4 weeks. I called my surgeon and they wanted me to have an EGD (scope),had my EGD on Friday and found out I had a stricture. They dilated it and I am doing wonderful now. I know its probably not what you want to hear but if it makes you feel better then it is worth it. I would call your surgeon ASAP as you do not want to dehydrate. Best of luck and keep us posted.
  16. I am almost 5 weeks post op and have ventured out to a few restaurants. Can anybody give me ideals of healthy items that you order in restaurants?? Im having a hard time with this.
  17. It does get better! I had a very bad first week also but each day got better. Hang in there it will come in time and will be worth it. Keep on walking!! I tried the gas x strips but the chewable simethicone worked way better. I took 2 at a time. I am just over 4 week out and each day gets better. Good luck I will be thinking of you.
  18. I live in Aurora Wi and I had surgery in Marquette Mi with Dr. Soto. Did you have surgery yet??
  19. The UP of Michigan. Actually I live in Wisconsin but right on the Michigan boarder so we are still consider the UP.
  20. That was pretty much the decision for me. I had very bad acid reflux and they said it could get much worse with sleeve so I said no way to that. I was also told gastric bypass was the gold standard for WLS. It is a tough decision but one that has to be made by each person.
  21. I had my surgery done in MQT also by Dr. Soto with Dr. English assist. Where do you live in MI? I live right by Iron Mountain.
  22. Lisa Collom, You really do need to write a blog or do a recipe book. I just love reading all of your foods you make. I can't wait until I can eat more of them. You have no ideal how much you help people on here with your great recipes. I just want to say thanks, because you have given me so many yummy options.
  23. The exact same thing happened to me. I am almost 3 weeks out and doing better but still can not get in all my protein. I am pretty close to my amount but just can not get it all in. I tried to force a protein shake down and got so sick. It does get better.
