  1. I gotta ask...are we being PUNKED Seriously - some of the things people write - I GOTTA think we’re being punked.
  2. peas are a starch cream of wheat is a starch tomatoes have sugar these are all NOT on my list
  3. I’d get a big slice of prime rib and maybe a rack of ribs then I’d get a big mac and some fries... or you can say I’d love to - is it ok to just meet you at the theater part -
  4. You are all making me feel pretty ok with post op - thank you ladies
  5. Here's an idea - buy more fruits and veggies for the whole family... I'd be happy to see the family steal fruits from me... I usually eat the doritos or fudge from them - a plum would rot on my counter...The fridge sounds like your enabling them to have a disorder.
  6. Thank you soccer - I know I've seen people older than me one week post op at the support meetings and ill ask there next meeting too! I really appreciate the response
  7. You were hot before - now your healthy and hot
  8. You can exercise fully? Or do you mean walking?
  9. Husband may have to go to work day 8 post op...do I even "need" him at that point?
  10. my dr forbids refried beans because it’s a starch not a protein
  11. There is no standard of care - some people get a diet - some don’t - some get a litany of pre-tests - some don’t - it’s so different from practice to practice -
  12. and - while this sounds dirty - it is true - don’t handle your meat too much - you want to gently and lightly hold the balls - (OK OK stop giggling) it is true... Lord knows I hate holding the other kind of balls - they make something else get all hard too.
  13. McDonalds is convenient and very affordable too. Sorta how I got this way
  14. You can have bread?
  15. Everyone has different phases so what's phase 1-2-3?
  16. You could do what my mom does which is half pork half beef - add an egg - she bakes them and they are ok
  17. I have an hmo and none of the tests cost me anything - and because I’m HMO they aren’t making bank on me at all - they make ooooooodles of money on the folks with the mercedes or caddilac types of insurance - hardly the cheapo HMO - on that note - yes they cost the insurance company - but I hardly believe they are willy nilly sending me off for tests just for their own pockets - I’m, after all, gastric bypass - they can load up their pockets on the people with terminal diseases that will not longer be their patients...
  18. I worked in HR for a number of years - ultimately your insured by the company you work for - the insurance “company” handles and manages the bills - but essentially your copays etc change - thats why we all dont’ have ONE insurance company (YET) - then add in the infrastructure of the companies that manager your plan - your insurance group - and there’s another layer of policies and police work - I’m NO expert in insurance - I AM an expert in FMLA - I seriously contemplated changing my group - but this week I just had my ahah lightbulb moment - and I’m so happy I’m with who I’m with... I bitched and moaned about more tests and tests and tests and now - I’M THRILLED especially when I read that others aren’t even getting tested... amen! My Dr’s care allot about me and my success.
  19. I think we all signed up for a new life because the old one wasn’t working for us...
