  1. Good luck to all who are having surgery today! Here's to a new you! I start pre op diet on Wednesday... 2 weeks liquid protein shakes. Our December journeys now begin. Keep us posted.
  2. KellyAnn, I am hoping for that.. Just trying to get mentally prepared. I go through ebbs and flows, but right now I am just excited! A little behind on all the Christmas stuff, but right on time for RNY.

  6. Good luck, Wonder Woman! I did my final visit with my surgeon yesterday, start my 2 week liquid diet Dec 5, and surgery Dec 20! So much to look forward to. For today, this moment, I am putting fears aside and jumping at the excitement of getting healthy! Good luck as you continue your quest!

  8. Question for you post op folks... Was it hard to get in and out of bed, or even up and down from chairs after surgery? I'm trying to plan as much as possible before my Dec. 20 surgery. I have a bed that sits pretty high up and wondering if it will be a problem post op? So excited... And so nervous!
  9. I think that is why. We really have to go through so much pre op. it is real and I agree, it is scary. Good luck as you start your process. Sounds like yo are ready!

  11. I. Am going to try to start something new to focus on. I want to do a mud run after surgery. I'm hoping that will keep food craving and guilt away. It's gotta be hard. Hang in there.
  12. I got a date of December 20. I got cleared at work without having to say too much about why. Nice. I thought I would have to say what kind of surgery, but turns out just saying surgery was good enough. Whew... Now I've got to really get it all together so I can relax at Christmas and heal.

  15. Gearing up for Thanksgiving... Did extras stairs at work, practiced some with my girls basketball team. I can't wait until I can run again!
  16. Mamiof3kids Just curious besides Chinese foods what you are unable to tolerate anymore? How long post op are you?

  18. Joan, I keep having "oh crap" moments. It's not just about loosing weight. I realize my whole way of life will change. And that is scary. I have to take a deep breath and remember its about being healthier, being able to move, having energy to keep up with my son. Whew.... It's huge! Just know you are not alone. I feel the same way.. Excited, nervous, and scared all at he same time. This New Years will really be a whole new way of life. I'm counting on the folks in this support group to help during the days it seems impossible!
  19. It took me exactly 2 weeks to get approved from insurance. That was the best phone call.
  20. Congrats to all of us December dates!! Whoo hoo! I'm getting so excited.... And so freaking nervous. I've never had surgery of any kind... So ready for a new me, but nervous about the surgery. I can't wait to be on the other side of all this. I'll be praying for all of the December babies on this list. We can do it!
  21. Lucky you! I go all liquid December 5. I think that might be the hardest part, but I'm so focused on the end result I'm hoping that will keep me strong!
