I'm 5 days post op and have not had a BM. I on all liquid diet and urine output is fine. My doc gave me milk of magnesium but I haven't taken it yet. Think I'm still a little afraid of BM... Even though its gotta happen. Very curious how long it took folks to have a BM post op?

Mine was dec. 20. Showers are fine, but I'm ready for a nice long soak. Hope you are healing nicely.

I have no problem sipping on water all day, but getting in 1 full shake is still really hard. I am 5 days post op. I sat down to Christmas dinner last night with prime rib on the table and was quite content with my 1/4 cup shake. Still full after a few sips. It takes me a long time to get in a 1/4 cup in. Merry Christmas, all!

Way to go, Sammi. Merry Christmas!! Just think in another month how much weight will be gone! I haven't weighed since I left the hospital because of the IV fluids have me feeling very bloated.

Took another stroll. Feeling better with every step. Went a little further this time, rounded the corner and walked another street. Wish I could take a nice bubble bath, but have to wait 7 days post op. keep moving and loosing!

Oh Lawd, I'm 3 days post op and laughing way too much. I needed the laugh, but the chuckles hurt my gut! Sorry that you had to be the ginea pig on this, but good info to know. I love this support group. We are definitely anything goes!

Good point Beans. My nurse friend told me coughing is actually good for the lungs... Just painful for the gut

Thank you! I'm resting and sipping in between walks, but I'm really trying to move some of this gas out! Ha!

I'm looking forward to: A bubble bath ( my doc says I have to wait a week after surgery) Mud run No more plus size anything! The double chin...gone! Energy to keep up with my 5 year old Flat belly Shopping in a regular store for regular sized clothes More active days Hiking the AT this summer! Yippie! Not feeling sluggish Being fit and healthy!

I'm 3 days post op and was able to walk up and down my street. Only about a quarter of a mile. I'm going to try for more in a little while.

Yeah.. I am home. Made I back home yesterday afternoon. Pain has been very manageable. I'm only asking 1/4 of what was prescribed. Ive been able to watch up and own my street, but after anything that I do I'm exhausted. Ok, I must admit that I thought it was a little weird when everyone post op was talking about needing to pass gas... I so get it now! I feel like I'd be home free with one supersonic fart! :0) I'm handling Water great and constantly sip, sip, sipping. The shakes are so thick and hard to get down. Yesterday I only was able to get down about 1/2 of one shake. I have developed a cough and not sure if I can have a cough drop. Anyone leave the hospital with a cough? Hope everyone pat op is healing nicely. Simplysouthern I'm especially praying for you. Your journey sounds intense and painful. Hopefully you are on the mend.

Checking in post op. surgery went fine, pain has not been too bad, but the nausea has been pretty ad. They've tried 4 different things and I think we have it under control. I'm ready to go home tomorrow.

SimplySouthern, I am praying for you and hoping that Gods healing hand is on you. I am sorry that you have had such difficulty. I hope that things settle down and you are able to enjoy the weight loss you have had so far. Thinking of you. I hope today is fantastic for you!

I've been slack, too. Okay folks, we need to pick it up a notch! Lets all try to do 30 minutes of something today. Report in tomorrow. I may not report as I am going in for surgery today and may not be able to post. Lets get motivated to move! :0)

Thanks guys!! It's my morning. Getting ready o head to the hospital. I officially made it 15 days on my optifast diet and I did not cheat once. First time ever I have not cheated on a diet!! I feel good. Prayers accepted today! :0) good luck for those still on the liquid diet. You can do it!

It's the morning of my surgery. Surprisingly, I slept great last night. I'm ready for my medical scrub the hospital sent me. Then headed to the hospital. Whew! Strangely I feel at peace. Ready to be post op!! Next stop: Losers circle!

I will be post op 1 day on Friday, so getting my weekly weigh in early since ill probably be out of it. Highest Weight: 255 After 2 weeks of liquid diet: 233 Surgery Date: 12/20/12

Simply Southern, How is everything now? Hope you are feeling good. Can't believe I'm up tomorrow!! Excited... And right now peaceful. Hope I can continue to stay calm. Everyone here has been awesome for encouragement and information leading up to surgery. Many thanks!
