  1. Yea I may go ahead and buy one and keep at the house so when I return I will have it. Makes sense to me
  2. Yes I think so too, I had one when I was cut open from navel to pube line when I had a full hysterectomy and it helped me so much. Kinda curios as to why they don't think so with laposcopic surgery?
  3. cant tell you about WBC but for the Vit D I was low and they put me on 5000 mgs, you can get it at walmart about 6 bucks.
  4. ask my surgeons clinic about a binder for my stomach after surgery, they said NO do not get one or use one, not for a larpascopic surgery. they said if it was the old type surgery where they split you open then yes you would get a binder, but a binder should never be used for larpascopic, glad I asked
  5. I was just telling someone last night about this. Saw one girl who is 4 days post op already purée food and eating mash potatoes and gravy. First thought was I thought you were only allowed protein shakes and water first 2 to 3 weeks. It was freaking me out. 1 girl 3 weeks out said she was feeling so good going to a friends party wanting to know if she could drink alcohol. Really ? These are the same ones who are going to poo poo on this surgery. Yes I know it's hard but why do they want to be fat all over again? Makes no sense to me
  6. Praying yall stop hurting. What type of pain pills do. They give you? Are you able to swallow them? Or chew them up?
  7. I dont think its doubts I am having, maybe I am mourning the onlly friend who ever comforted me, (food) but like a parent that has passed away just have to mourn it and move on best you can, and what they would want you to do. maybe I should increase my anti depressants a little, i will ask my doc
  8. Ok i want to get one for surgery, it really helps with the muscles, had one after hysterectomy, was a great help
  9. I have been the same way, i am on a emotional rollar coaster right now. losing my job last week. have root canal surgery friday morning, first preop appt on the 20th and the surgery the 31st. I have been flooding the tears, just like my eyes have sprung a leak. i know i am stronger then this. but I know i am making great choices in my life. but my heart is saying differently. i am not eating very much, i am sleeping too much. i walk around in a cloud. yall are the only ones i can talk to. i cant show my weakness to my husband or my son. they think i am the all powerful OZ. pretty much. but I am so weak right now.
  10. I am going to ask them to be sure to put the needle in my left arm. I am right handed, and when i had my total hysterectomy in 99 they put the IV pump in my right arm and i had a hard time trying to pull myself up to go to the bathroom or walk. so i want it in my left arm to leave my right arm ok. also i have a big vein in both arms that you can drive a Mac truck through, so they shouldnt have any difficulty finding a vein thank goodness.
  11. I am so glad it went well for you, glad no pumps. did the give you a waist binder?
  12. Freaking auto correct lol it is supposed to be I'V in your arm or hand
  13. You too, I was just reading a post on some that are 4 days out talking about eating mash potatoes and gravy purée I don't get it. I thought for the first few weeks you can only have water and protein shakes? It's getting confusing to me. Yes I know it's going to be hard to give up those carbs but these will be the same people 4 months in that will say they only lost 20 lbs so far. And duh really maybe don't eat mash potatoes and gravy.
  14. So glad to see every one is making it through the surgeries without complications. Makes me less nervous. All of you get well soon. And hope everyone stays healthy and full of energy
  15. Haven't had my surgery yet but for the first 2 months after my surgery I will remain in sweats. I am going to do what I am told to do. Take or drink what I gotta drink. Take my time do small exercise and win this thing called life. As my father in law told me. You know your not having brain surgery it's stomach surgery. Your brain is going to constantly tell you your hungry and depressed. So you gotta win this and beat the negative stuff your brain tells you. I am so scared too. But I am 56 and I want to feel better I want to move better and I just want to be healthy. The leaner body is a bonus
  16. I need gummi everything the ones the nutritionist gave me are chewable and huge and gritty. I can't stand them anymore. I assume y'all take iron pills because yall still have your periods. Hopefully I don't need the iron
  17. Oh ok wasn't sure about the fruit since alot of folks have a hard time with the shakes.
  18. with the protien shakes right after surgery, can you add fruit to them like bananas or strawberries, or pineapple? Just curious if you can have that in the shakes
  19. Thanks its a work in process for sure, being 56 and just wanting to live healthier, as I read so many of the post in this forum from the women who are way younger then me, I see they just either want to look sexier, have babies, or just fit into the society that the rag mags have created what women should look like. but when I read they had a baked potatoe or cookies, and want to know when they can drink alcohol its makes me sad that they just dont get it. this surgery is a lifetime commitment. Look at carnie wilson. she had lap band surgery about 10 yrs ago just so she can have a baby, she had the baby and gain almost all her weight back, for one she loves to smoke weed and has spoke about it, Even I know weed makes you have the munchies lol. and she likes to drink wine, proof she wasnt ready to change. She had the revision from lapband to gastric RNY, and she has only lost 20 lbs in a year. She just doesnt want to give up her life style and its very sad. She is not a spokesperson for gastric bypass, if she was it would be "this is what not to do" ok off the pedestal, sorry,
  20. I havent had the surgery yet, but I have diverticulitis, and have diarreah all the time to sometimes not sometimes do, my gasterologist told me to increase my fiber can you take extra fiber, i was told to put a teaspoon of psyliicin husk, I( may not be spelled right) into juice, it helps me alot
  21. lol yea I will be needing some guinea pigs for sure, thanks!
