I am three months out and also choosing to avoid these things. Soda is not worth gaining weight or slowing down the loss. Alcohol is not worth a painful ulcer and the extra calories at this time.
I did try a sip of flat diet soda a few weeks ago and just the itty bitty bubbles hurt my pouch!
I do drink coffee daily and honestly I love it. A tablespoon of my creamer is only 3-5 g sugar so it is my Breakfast. It makes me have a better day and not feel deprived.
I was unsure of creame and sugar substitute so I have avoided coffee... missing it terribly! What do you use?

Well said... thought it but didn't want to say it! Definitely a plus!

Well we're on our backs the entire time during surgery and in the hospital bed. I know for me I had to get up and walk. The gas can cause issues as well. How far out are you from surgery?
4 days... feeling like everything stops at my chest-bone (even water) ... walking definitely helps alot! Just wondering what I did to myself!!

Did anyone else have severe back-pain post/op? Mine was releaved some when drain was removed but now at least it's manageable!
