That is great! I would love real food. Before my lap band I had the same as you. I did the phase 1 of the south beach diet. That worked well for me. PAT testing is done! My last app is an echocardiogram on Mon to clear me for surgery! It IS really getting real ... Lol

Hello! I go for PAT testing this morning too! I was wondering why they do a chest X-ray. Doing ok on preop diet. How are you doing?

Does anyone think pickles are a Ba idea on preop. 5 calories a spear of course not fried. They are cucumbers after all. I can have two cups veggies a day...just wondering if a pickle is bad. I can call my surgeons office tomorrow too. I bet they have heard it all ...lol

Yeah I have been higher at 315 and my body basically fought me. I have two bulged discs in my back and I CANNOT get back to where I was, I could barely walk. Imagine trying to lose weight when you can barely walk...kind of a catch 22. It took me a year but here I am and now I would like the sleeve as a tool to help me the rest of the way. Good luck we are not that far out now!

Crystal light came in pitcher size tubs....not sure if that is what you are looking for but where I shop they are usually near the top of the shelf.

Die hard. I'm on day two of the preop diet and it has been ok today I guess. But earlier a coworker was handing out key lime pie bars and I was focused on work. She asked if I wanted one, I said yes and kept working. She set it on my desk and moved on. Well why did I say yes? I had no intentions of eating that. I just didn't think. Programmed response: Do you want (fill in the blank) YES! Ok so I did not eat that bar. I have it to a coworker who was eying it bc it was the last one. I joked and told her that I saved it for her.... I've got to stop saying yes to food. Just say NO to food

I am so sorry to hear that. I know exactly what you are going through. I first started trying to revise 3 years ago. I went through two insurance companies that denied me bc they said since I gained the weight back, I was non compliant even though the testing showed damage. I finally got approved with my new insurance but my plan ends on 07/1 and I am still trying to get cardiac clearance. It has been a long fight but worth it for my health. Hang in there and maybe a law firm would help, I never thought of that option. I would go to Mexico and get it done, but I feel like my husband would not support me in the option even if we found a really good program. He still pictures old rusty equipment and dark infected rooms... Any way I wish you all the best and a speedy appeal and approval.

I am having mine the 25th at Forest Park in Dallas Tx. I am hoping I get a go for surgery. Having late testing done with a cardiologist due to some results I got last week from the EGD. Good luck to you too! You will be a few days ahead of me. And of course we CAN stay on course with the preop.

Omg today is day 1 of preop for me. I do not like this headache and weird buzzy feeling. Can't wait to have my 5oz of Fish for dinner...never been so happy to say that's what I get for dinner... Oh and they all ate yummy tacos around me at work today. How can you miss something so bad and you were eating real food yesterday... Oh well. This is my decision and I'm sticking to it if it kills me lol

Going for my cardio appt today at 3:30...it was a last minute requirement bc they found that my heartbeat is irregular so I need prayers they can get me cleared for surgery 6/25. Start my preop diet tomorrow.

Hey lady! Can you have a different type of protein shake? Do you have some one that can go get different ones for you? I am used to them now but when I first started drinking them pre surgery for my band they tasted awful to me. There is one that isn't as bad as the others IMO the Atkins Daybreak chocolate shake. It isn't as thick as the others and sort of reminds me of yoohoo or choc milk. Hang in there hon. This too shall pass.

I'm June 25th too and have my Cardiac appt Monday. I am hoping they clear me... You are right. I don't think it will be real for me until they do. I start my preop diet Tuesday. I get 3 shakes, two Protein bars and a dinner of 5oz lean meat and two cups veggies. I am really scared they won't clear me bc they just found on wed. That I have an irregular heartbeat...that's why my Cardiac appt is so close to my surgery. Anyways good luck guys on the prop diet

My opinion of course...Well you could ask the person what kind of example would it be if I started to have really bad health problems and my children lost their mother at an early age? My husband told me once that he was afraid hat he was going to have to wheel me around in a wheelchair in a couple of years. I am only 31 and my weight was breaking my body down. Even 45 lbs lighter, I still have horrible back and knee pain. So he was probably right.

Well the insurance part is. yay! I have been approved and I am scheduled for 06/25 but I had an egd done wed. And they discovered that I have an irregular heartbeat so I have to get cardiac clearance to do the surgery. It runs in my family but I did not think I had it. I was lucky in that I got an appt Mon with a Cardiologist and I am hoping it will only take a few days to get cleared. Cutting it too close for comfort. I won't be satisfied until I am I'm the recovery room and my surgeon tells me he has successfully removed my band and sleeved me...lol i hope you know I wasn't saying that to diminish how you feel in any way. I was letting you know that sometimes the battles are long and hard but don't give up! I am tired of fighting but who else is gonna fight for me and my health....
