  1. Glad to know I'm not the only one. It feels like my new little tummy cramps when I put anything other than crystal light in it. But I cannot take the taste of the crushed pills in crystal light, so I put them in the protein shake and ssssllllooooowwwwllly drink the shake. I agree that I hope this gets better!
  2. Aww Hun hang in there! They say it will be better. I am 3 days out. I am just really tired and having trouble getting Protein in, taking naps and sleeping all night too.
  3. I am so sorry to hear that. Hang in there. You don't want the delay but you don't want to owe the full surgery amount either. Did they give specifics on how to get the insurance resolved?
  4. Congratulations I am happy to hear all went well!
  5. I called them today because I have painful hiccups. The nurse spoke to me immediately! I didn't them have to wait for them to call back!
  6. I ordered grilled shrimp during my preop diet and they lied it was shrimp scampi. I had to eat, so I tried to get the butter off in a napkin lol. Had nightmares about that buttered shrimp. Ask my husband, I sounded as if I had murdered someone by eating the shrimp, I planned a lot better after that with only. Few days left and I did still lose 10 pounds on the preop an my surgeon was pleased. Just a minor set back. Put it behind you and do what I did. Make sure you have no room for error the last few days lol
  7. I know right? I love him and his staff was great too!
  8. It was Tuesday 6/25. When was yours?
  9. I am in McKinney. Not too far! Small world huh? Who was your surgeon? Mine was Dr Nick Nicholson.
  10. Hey there! Where in Tx are you? I can't go outside to walk today it is 103... I think I will eat a SF Popsicle lol
  11. Welcome and congratulations!
  12. Hey there! The preop diet does suck for the first few days. But it does get better. Everyone told me before I started it and of course it was true! By the last few days of my preop diet it felt so liberating that I had done it! Also, I felt like I was better prepared for my post surgery diet. During the two week preop, I dealt with some of the head hunger. And I lost 10 pounds in my preop when it took me 6 weeks to lose the previous 6 pounds lost. My surgeon was pleased with my weightloss on the preop and said "great! That will make operation this easier." Hang in there and you can do it if I could
  13. Yup, it's normal. I literally almost vomited when they gave me my surgery date! I am still early after surgery but I have no regrets. I was nervous up until they put me out for surgery. For me, it was the right decision and after I woke up, I was relieved! Hang in there...
  14. I brought my own pillow for sleeping and used the hospital pillow to hold over my abdomen to cough. The hospital also gave me an abdominal binder and that helped a lot. The hospital pillow was firm but soft enough.
  15. I know what you mean! I must have had a look on my face because everyone kept telling me not to run off while I was waiting...lol there was a delay in getting the OR ready so it was a little nerve racking. Hang in there and don't run off, you will do great
  16. Hello! I have been doing relatively well! I did great right out of surgery the doctors and nurses at the hospital said that I was the best patient they have seen in a long time lol. Being at home had been fine. I dont think I am tolerating the thin Protein shakes yet. I can only drink 1 oz per hour so it took me two days to get one Protein shake down. That being said though I am getting other liquids down and staying hydrated. I have been without those gas pains until I woke up this morning and All the gas was trapped under my big incision. Very painful but I rubbed my belly and it redistributed lol Did you get a date for your removal? I know it vs be scary but even with all of this surgery stuff I'm going through right now, I am so relieved to have evicted the band forever. Right out of surgery that pressure/pain in my chest was gone... Whew! I am excited to start my sleeved journey. I know that this will work because I am determined to make it work lol keep me posted
  17. Sending those positive thoughts I woke up this morning with the dreaded gas pain. I had only had minor pains before this. I think all the gas got trapped under my big incision. I rubbed my belly a bit and the gas redistributed so at least my big incision doesn't hurt so bad I want to cry anymore. I was trying to wean myself off the hydrocodone but today is big the day for that I think. Good luck to the last of our June sleevers today
  18. Thanks no regrets just tired. Would you have any time off before class starts?
  19. I'm out two days and can only manage to sip and walk. I am very tired. Remember we are not able to get in much of anything. 48 oz was my goal this week and that includes protein and water. I can't imagine trying to do schoolwork right now. Plus my eyes go cross eyed on this medicine sometimes lol
  20. If you are still on hydrocodone, you probably don't want to take Tylenol. I would ask your surgeon's office. Mine told me not to take any Tylenol while taking the hydrocodone. If you are off and it is in your "owner's manual" then you should be fine.
  21. I two days out and having hiccups. As you can imagine they hurt. Does anyone have this problem? Usually it is after 1 oz of protein drink. I am not nauseated by them or anything and I don't have pain until I hiccup. I am also drinking it slowly.
  22. Oh no! I am sorry to hear that. I hate it when work interferes with my health. I have only been at my job for 5 months and took a risk asking for a leave this early. They seemed ok with it. We will see when I get back how they really feel lol Hopefully your time will pass quickly and you will soon be on the sleeved side.
  23. Is everything ok or was it just a scheduling conflict?
  24. I forgot to mention that I am two days post op and that chest pain I had from the band was completely gone even on day 1. What a freaking relief
  25. Congratulations time will hopefully pass quickly for you.
