I passed my one year mark on the 10th of November with a total weight loss of 148 pounds! I only have 7 pounds to my goal weight! Woot!
my superpower is......

Ok I am just sharing this everywhere I can. My starting weight was 425. My surgery weight was 349 and on Friday my weight was 325. I ever thought I would loose 100 pounds. I can't believe I did it. I just want to scream it from the roof top.

For anyone that is looking into having RNY surgery...look at what it has done for me...
In April of this year I weighed in at 309lbs. I was devistated. I was wearing 24/26 clothes that were tight! Well in just 7 short months this is where I am now 188lbs and wearing a size 12. I have about 23 more pounds to go until I get to my goal of 165 (I am 5'9 so that is a BMI 25) and for Thanksgiving this year...I am jogging/walking in my FIRST 5k. I am so excited I can't hardly wait. I AM SO THANKFUL FOR MY RNY. It has changed my life FOREVER and I am so happy with the results that I have had. Here is some before and now photos.  

My doctor recommends them just in case there is an emergency like an accident or you pass out

I'm 2 weeks post op from open RNY. Lost 27 lbs and lost 33 lbs pre op since July for total of 60 lbs

I'm glad I chose Rny bypass... I was considering the sleeve Bc of the no dumping..
But I think I need the stricter diet with consequences of eatting sweets

Ok i have worked for my company for 11 years and during open enrollment try getting the supplemental life insurance and you guess it was always denied due to my weight.
But not this year they approved me! :-)
Second awesome thing to happen to me is the owner of my gym asked me to be on the wall of success. When she first approached me i said yes but some of my weight loss was acheived thru gastric bypass, i was almost in tears when she said so i see how hard you work and it was not the easy way out.

I chose the bypass over the sleeve or band because I needed my body to hold my brain accountable! I was 305 pounds at 5'2" and wore a size 28. Yes, I've dumped, but it helps to remind me that I shouldn't eat this or that!

Yes I bought the the plaque on eBay and made a pretty braclet to go with it. Same reason to no blind tube and nsaids

I lost a friend. At least she used to be....when I was no longer her fat friend that made her feel thin, she began to show her true colors....I decided that I didn't need people in my life who couldn't support me on the basis that I was their token fat friend! My true friends have always supported me through "thick" & "thin"!!

Thanks to each of you ... I am incredibly appreciative of the ability to vent as well as educate myself in this space. I'm even more appreciative of your support.

I have lost 58lbs since i started this process. My surgery was 8/21/12. I wore a 3X shirt and size 24 pants I am wearing a size 18 or 20 pant (depends on brand) and an XL/XXL shirt

If people are not going to love you for who you are and what you are going through then maybe it's time for them to move on. You deserve to be loved by friends unconditionally in your life no matter the circumstances. There are times and seasons for friends. But the good ones will live you forever and that's who you need to surround your self with. I say there loss. I'm sorry you have so much hurt. Focus and you and being the best you can. That's what matters most right now.
