  2. Happy 47th Birthday becky42!

  3. 4 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 4th Anniversary becky42!

  4. I have acid reflux to the extreme. I never had it prior to surgery and didn't have it until the last fill. After this last fill I can hardly lie down without getting sick and I have chest problems and coughing. I didn't have enough restriction before this fill and now I have enough, but not too much (as far as food intake goes). Does anyone have a suggestion on what you can do to prevent it at night. I've been taking Nexium and it helps, but if you stop eating or drinking before bedtime will that help? My nose is also all messed up. I have sores in my nose. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  5. skhopp - thanks for the reply. I'll say a little prayer that we both have no problems! My regular doctor is the one who did all my fills, but interestingly enough when he did the fill of 2 cc and I said I didn't feel any different he said, "It's pushing back at me." I remembered that after the fact. I think I feel some restriction now. Keep me posted! Goodluck!
  6. I'm a little afraid that I have a leak. I went to the doctor in November because I had a stomach virus. He withdrew all the Fluid (3.9 in a 4 cc band). I had been throwing up for a week or so and couldn't get over it. He waited two weeks and put 2 cc back in. I don't recall having any restriction, but am not sure. I went back in three weeks and there was no fluild in the band to withdraw - NONE. He said with 2 cc I should have felt some restriction of some type. He put 2 cc back in exactly a week ago. Because of the holidays I can't see him until 1/8/09. He said there may be a leak and it might have been a weird way he put the needle in or something.... I'm worried because I can't afford revision. Any advice appreciated.

feeling like I am going to fail!

I understand your frustration, but it's probably going to take a few fills. Weight Watchers can't hurt through. I'm headed there tomorrow with my husband who isn't banded. I've lost restriction in my band and gained a few too!
  8. I hadn't had a fill since 6/30/08, but since that fill I had a LOT of restriction and was having reflux problem and throwing up occasionally. I thought it would loosen up, but it didn't. Last week I felt like I was having a heart attack. Went to dr and he took all the saline out of my band. I haven't had any restriction in almost two weeks now, and I HATE IT - especially at Thanksgiving. My question is - I got back to the dr on Thursday, do you think he will be aggressive with the fill or should I expect no restriction for several months again? He said he thought I had no slippage if the symptoms all went away, and they did immediately. I just don't want to have to start over again. Any thoughts?

Very scared! Need some help please!

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to call the doctor Monday. I didn't Friday (hard head I know). I am doing somewhat better though. I just find it strange that it took a few months to get too tight. However, I have started a new job. Someone mentioned stress - maybe that's part of it.
  10. I got my band on 7/31/07 and I'm down about 90 lbs. Last fill was 6/30/08. All summer I was fine. I felt enough restriction but not a whole lot. Had a couple of PBs and threw up occasionally if I ate too fast. I have worked from my home office for six years and recently (3 wks ago) went back into the office. People eat in offices - A LOT - and after several lunches out I realized I'm eating more than normal and have tried to slow down. My problem is that now no matter how little I eat I get pains in my chest and shoulder blade area. I throw up EVERY time I eat, sometimes before I even leave the restaurant and I can't drink very much without pain or throwing up. I've tried drinking hot liquids, to no avail. I then started taking Children's Mucinex because I have some allergies going as well, but nothing helps. Now I'm waking up with food particles and liquids coming out of my nose at night. (sorry if TMI) It's really scaring me. I don't want to call the doctor because I'm afraid of him taking the fill out and me gaining weight again. Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas? Thanks a bunch!!
  11. I had the same thing happen and it was actually caused by sinus drainage. Weird, but it happens.
  12. I'm very confused. I have had several fills and not until the last one, which was 6/30/08, that I ever vomited or felt serious restriction. After that fill I had reflux and vomited at least a couple of times a week. It was very tight, but I was still able to take in enough nutrition. Over time I guess it stretched and I can now eat bread again (toasted and dry). The vomiting went away and everything seemed okay. Last night I had extreme reflux again. It was unreal and coming out my nose in my sleep. (sorry if too much information) It was disgusting and now my throat hurts and I feel miserable. My question is, what would cause this to happen after everything seemed okay again? It has continued all day today, but at least you can deal with it when you're awake. Any thoughts appreciated.

Having trouble getting into a routine....

I always tell myself I have to go to the gym but don't have to stay past 10 minutes if I don't feel like it. Once I'm there I'm fine. Goodluck!

    Anyone tried Zumba?

My gym started a class a few months ago. I need to try it. It sounds like fun.

    Hello all...

I'm sorry you haven't lost more. I too was banded in July 2007. I'm glad you found this site though! It will get better. Everyone here is very helpful.
