  1. I am sorry that you are having a hard time! Thank you for sharing your husband with our nation that can't be easy :) the only thing I can suggest is that I keep a journal on one side of the page I put all the Vitamins and check off when I take them and then on the other side I put food and Water to make sure I get it all in. I write down what time I need to do them.

Thanks so much. I'm going to start writing everything. Thanks for the advice. Does your vitamins or Protein gives you a bad taste?

  2. Hey everyone, I'm 3 weeks post op today and I'm struggling really bad with my Vitamins and Protein Shakes. I feel so tired. My hubby is not able to come home after work because being a marine he is now in the field for a month and I'm alone dealing with 4 kids ages 7,6,2 and almost 7 months. I don't regret the surgery at all. I'm just tired and want to get my vits and shakes in. Thanks for letting me vent.

  3. Hi guys!! 24 hours post op now and I'm doing pretty good. Sipping Water. Walking a bit and cleaned my self up! Lol. Off the pain pump thank God! It was making me so nauseated. Let me tell you dry heaves and hiccups suck!! It's hard to keep from falling a sleep which makes drinking hard. Ordering a SF raspberry Popsicle for dinner. Yea ! Glad to hear my surgery buddies are ok!!

    Congrats worm!

I had a hiccup frenzy after surgery, it sucked.

  4. Hello Honeydue...well your doctor provided you with eating stages because each stage prepares your pouch for the next plus also prepares you on how to chew your food well and what the texture has to be before you swallow. So think of it this way...you got the clear liquid and full liquid stages under your belt. You're now allowed puree'd foods because your doc feels you're ready. So....pick your first puree'd item and have it for say...lunch. Stick with your liquid for Breakfast and do the puree for lunch. Sit at the kitchen table' date=' use a baby spoon so you don't take in too much at once. Do nothing other than concentrate on the meal in front of you. Take the first spoonful.....savor it in your mouth while putting down your spoon.....swallow when ready. Wait a minute.....try again. You should be able to get in about say 1/4 cup but, you'll probably have to build on that. Not everyone can get 1/4 in at one sitting. Go slow, and listen to the signs your body gives you. If you feel like the next spoonful is going to be too much...don't take it even if you haven't taken in 1/4 cup. It's ok......put it away and go back to it later if your hungry again. The whole idea is to go slowly. Also just one new food at a time...just like a baby. Some foods your pouch will like....some foods it won't. You'll know when your pouch says no. For me sometimes just the smell of something and I know there is no way I can eat it.

You can do it...don't be afraid..just one small bit at a time. :)[/quote']

Thanks so much for your advice. It's really helpful.

  5. My surgery went very bad I am typing this from the ICU of an American hospital in San Diego. I am not well enough to type the whole story but my mother had to call the American Consulate to get me out. He refused me pain meds telling me I was complaining over nothing and he screwed up during the surgery and caused internally bleeding which he had to completely cut me open for. My stitches are oozing tons of blood and I am waiting on an OR and surgeon to take me back into surgery. BEWARE of Dr Quinones in Tijuana Mexico

OMG Eva, I'm so sorry! I'm praying for you and hope the doctors in San Diego fixes things.

  6. You HAVE to be freaking kidding me! I just got a call today at 4pm that I they have to reschedule my surgery to the 20th because the nurse handling my case is off and hasn't sent the final authorization. I'm so upset...and hungry. Haven't eaten in two days. Ugh!

I had to vent. Sorry folks.
