Welcome Mary! I too have a son who has no contact. I knew what it's like. This is a great group. I had my surgery 13 months ago. Hasn't been easy but it's been really worth it. Message me if you want to discuss your son privately.
Blessings!

I was told that typically it needs to be done 2-3 times. I had to have it done twice.

Sounds like you might be very dehydrated. What color is your pee?

Ah. Health tips. Ain't it great. What i have heard is that the body has an easier time absorbing cold Water than hot. Warm water passes through easier. And as far as calories, it makes sense that cold water burns more calories as your body has to warm you after drinking it. The lemon is just good for you. But not in the early days after surgery. Too acidic.

I went to Joes crab shack and had a steampot. Mmmm. Crab, clams, mussels, and sausage. Ate about half. It was amazing. There is life after surgery.

Doesn't that just really hit home what this surgery can do? You look great!

My question is similar....a regular Popsicle has 7 carbs. That doesn't seem too high. Can I have a regular Popsicle? I hate the taste of the sugar free stuff!Carb counts are also deceptive. Are they straight sugar or corn Syrup? Because milk or fruit sugars often process differently for people. Sugar or corn syrup make me dump. Fruit and milk don't.
Plus your regular popsicle is empty calories. No nutrition, where milk and fruit add Vitamins and minerals to your body.

Congratulations! I've lost 110 pounds after 9 1/2 months. I'm hoping to lose forty more pounds in the next 2 1/2 months. I'm really stepping up my exercise plan to try to accomplish my goal.Cmbd- I am not sure that 20 lbs a month is a realistic goal at this stage of the game. 10 lbs a month might be more attainable. Still with calorie watching, Protein eating, and exercise.

Shrimp is one of my"go to" foods. Even from early on. Just don't over cook them.

I'm fine with my wife's size but if RNY will increase her sex drive I'm gonna have her meet with my surgeon!! Jeeeze! In my case it's been 3 years! Last was when I was in the 300's' date=' she always says, "I miss my big guy"[/quote']Wow Frank. I'm sorry. I understand how you feel. I separated from my husband last August. Now he's dating a fairly heavy woman. When we were together, he was always hitting on the twiggy types. I think it's a self esteem thing. On his part.

Tina,
Check and see if you can do a recumbant bike. It really works for me. You need to exercise past the first 6 month period.

Does everyone who has had this surgery get the excess skin? Anyone lucky enough to have awesome skin??Fat or extra skin- which would you prefer?

I went to the doctor last week for my one year check up. I am at 160. Asked him what my goal was. He said, 160. Apparently, good blood tests and a bmi under 30 are what he seeks.
It has taken me 4 months to lose 8 lbs. But maybe at that rate, by December I will be at 144.

My guess would be diet issues.
What to eat for energy?
