Did You Ever Feel Like You Were Punished For Vanity?
slowtogo replied to worm2872's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am with you. Though I must confess, slipping into an 8/10 dress today felt pretty good. Still can't get small jeans on. -
I can do the carb smart ice cream, or the no sugar added ice cream. Just a little.

Talk to your doc and try two things. Rest your pouch for a day or two back to full liquids. And make sure you are chewing the heck outta your foods. -
My last stall lasted almost a month... Shake up your diet, increase your protein, decrease your carbs and hold steady.

It is SO nice when you don't have to move the scale any more. I used to do this too.

Sounds like fluid gain. If you don't drink enough water, your body retains it. Its crazy.

Total Nutrition Per Day?
slowtogo replied to theby_88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Depends upon your surgeon. In my program at your stage was 60 mg protein, no carbs to speak of and 600-800 Cal per day. 3 protein drinks are about 600 Cal, and the rest was real protein, seafood, chicken, pork, or beef. -
I use a little regular honey. It doesn't bother me. Fruit does not either....sugar does. A tsp of honey has about 5 mg of sugar.

Think yourselves to be 100 lbs heavier? I am now 184, and have been in one-derland for a while, but when I think about my weight, the brain clicks to 284...can't seem to reset the counter, even the clothes are obviously much smaller.

I still can't do bread unless it's toasted, eaten slow, and chewed carefully. -
Bmi To Low Without Comorbitities
slowtogo replied to joyaskins34's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All, with a bmi like that, what about trying to follow the same diet we do? Low Carb, high protein, even the protein shakes, the liquid diet and the whole bit? Keep in mind, surgery is a tool. Only works for about 4 years if you are not committed. If I knew then about the necessity of low Carb, things might have been different. -

Dumping Or Stomach Bug?
slowtogo replied to USAFmom2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dumping is pretty quick..usually a few hours Max. My bet would be a flu or bug. -
Some sweeteners break down when heat is applied...maybe this is the problem?

You know, its funny. I don't find your comment very supportive. He was not being supportive, or even kind. I got ticked. And yes, I am human. I have feelings, and sometimes comments don't roll off my back. Most tell me how good I look. For him it was the pot calling the kettle black. If my comments make him make another choice its a bonus. I don't want to see another employee die the same way my friend did. Someone telling you that you once weighed a ton is no compliment no matter how you interpret it.

Everything comes back up. Including Water. And a grand whopping 2 oz....so, not even large quantities. It starts by feeling that food isn't passing and things you could eat you can't anymore. You always need to chew chew chew...this too can get stuck, if you don't, but its different.
