Yes using the 5 day pouch test. And eventually you can eat 1 cup if food per meal later on. Right now you should only be eating 1/2 cup. But it depends in what you eat too. As yogurt and stuff like that goes right through you and doesn't stay in your stomach. But try eating 3-4 meals a day measure out 3 ounces of Protein and 1 ounce of veggies. Wait 30 minutes after and drink and also go back to drinking Protein Shakes. Just get your 70-80 grams of protein in and 64 or more ounces of Water and you will see you wont be hungry.

MY doc talked about this yesterday in a group class I went to. He said some things you feel like you can eat more because there not as heavy. While other things you can only take a few bites and your full.
Remember your body will naturally adjust to your new pouch and everyone is different. Personally if my doc talked to me like that I would be looking for a new one.

I am 4 years post-op. The key, I think, is to continue to eat the right foods. Concentrate on Protein, make sure you're taking your supplements. I have never been able to drink huge amounts of Water at one time---it does fill me quickly. If you're concerned about your pouch stretching, check out www.5daypouchtest.com. And maybe find a bypass support group in your area. A nurse leading the group may have answers for you.

Go to 'The World of Eggface' website. She has tons of meatless recipes. Search for 'meatless monday'. Hope that helps!

If you like stir-fry try firm tofu. Make your standard mixed veggies (pea pods, Water chestnuts, carrots etc) I did about one inch length thin strips use teriyaki sauce only on the tofu All in the pan
I know those are completely crap cooking directions/recipe but I really enjoyed it

Hi Michelle! First, let me say congrats on your weight loss; thats amazing! I'm new to this too! I just had surgery last thursday & its been rough finding anything that tastes good to me. I'm also a vegetarian & an extremely picky eater which I think has only gotten worse. I'm hoping to find some great recipes to "spice" things up a bit. I'm not even doing puréed foods yet, so it's been hard to find "liquids" appealing. I use to be able to eat diet foods & now everything that I've tried sugar free seems to leave an unpleasant after taste in my mouth. Did you run in to that too?
