  1. I can be done just most get happy with a size 14 or so. You have to be drive to the healthily BMI. My BF has made it in two years. It can be done!!
  2. Was that just to see the doc? Wow. It should be quick from here. Good luck
  3. Wow!! All the kids!! :-). It's so cool! Anyway I'm scared too. It's hard not to be but I keep thinking I can't get this weight off My dad died last year at 61 from a heart attack. I know his lifestyle and weight were a major cause. You don't want that to be us. Even though I'm 40 I miss him terribly. You want to be there as long as possible for your kids and wonderful grand babies!!!
  4. Thanks all!!! I'm hoping to get a date ASAP. They are booking about a month out since my dr only does surgeries on Monday and Fridays. I will definitely pray and keep the fingers crossed for the folks waiting! :-).
  5. Wow. You guys rock!! Thanks so much! Fingers crossed for the phones to ring!!!
  6. Humm well I'm HR. Let me think.. I'm assuming you have medical conditions which helped prompted the surgery? If you go and insurance is paying, that's really no longer elective. She can make your life hell and anything under 50 employees she can fire you. I'd seek counsel if she does not come around.
  7. If you have been there over a year you can be approved for FMLA that will protect your job. Also, this is really not elective surgery if you have medical conditions. Get in touch with your HR or leave of absence department.
  8. Now for the surgery date. I'm so stunned!
  9. Yes, my BF came home with a tube for about a week. Again common for her surgeon. I'm in HR and I always tell people plan for the worst hope for the best. I pray we are all blessed and have easy surgeries (most do) but you should try to have a back up plan if you have to stay home or in the hospital longer. Also, a lot of trouble (at least with the folks I personally know) had come from pushing to much or not following dr orders. Be safe and don't look at those videos! :-).
  10. Yes!! Hope it goes well and good luck
  11. Whoo hoo. I'm soooo happy for you!!!
  12. I'm worm2872. Imagine that lol. There is also a string on fitness with a bunch of fitness pal users
  13. As I sit here waiting for Aetna to review my case, I think back on what it was like when I was thinner and the things I miss doing. Oh, there are a lot of them amusement parks, horseback riding, etc. But what I really miss is being able to DANCE. I can still move but it is hard to fling around 270 pounds. My one goal is to be able to use point shoes again even if I am 40! lol What about you? What do you miss doing that you hope to be able to again or what is it like to be able to do the things you were missing out on? Thoughts?
  14. Ellie, That is so wonderful. It's the little things that are HUGE milestones. Keep up the good work!
  15. tkd, That is so awesome! I am so glad to hear that things are moving for you. Good Luck!!
  16. Like a few of you, I am a grazer and I love sweets. I actually want dumping or the fear of it anyway. Plus, I want to be scared to death of stretching my pouch out. The more I read, the more important I realize it is that you have to be dedicated to the vitamins and the protein lifelong which is good for your system as well as keeping the weight off. I also realize that I have not had good eating habits in the past so I am sure I have had deficiencies at some point. At least this way I'll be getting blood work and medical/Dr. care
  17. Ooh ladies! Work on the confidence!! See someone if you have too. About 7 years ago I got down to 175 and went to Mexico as a celebration. I couldn't see the new me. I was very depressed and the downward spiral started. One persons crack that I was still fat and I gave up. I can admit this now but not proud of it. I know this time ill need more emotional support. Good luck to all of you. You really look good.
  18. Snow... I know how you feel. If I get a date I'm not sure what to tell my boss. She's awesome but the whole team are like sticks. I'm twice their size. I know I shouldn't be do vain but I'm embarrassed right now. I hope I get strong like the other folks here. Good luck
  19. Falicia, ya!! We are do happy for you!!! Crstal, thank you and yes that did make me smile. :-).
