Things Im Looking Forward To:
Am I crazy for saying this? Maybe, but I'm SO looking forward to working out and walking and going for jogs etc. I loved gym class as a kid and love going on walks. It's calming for me, just wish I could do it now without running out of breath and such

Hahahahah dstollery. Yeah I'm waiting for that too. Used to get compliments all the time, gained weight and started to just not care and give up on what I look like in public. I want to get back to my cheerleading body!

That's so cool you're so close by! How is he as a doctor? I looked into going to their practice but went with the Kane center in Chicago but might have to go through Milwaukee area now because of insurance changes

Should I Stay Or Should I Go?
I would most likely get Medicaid in Wisconsin after I became a resident and have a hospital maybe closer to our house

Should I Stay Or Should I Go?
Well I just had the info meeting then the consult. They are sending it to an insurance now. I guess if i got all te requirements done and went back to insurance through a different hospital it would be ok. But I like the hospital I'm going through now, I may go to the info meeting for a different hospital soon.

Should I Stay Or Should I Go?
Well I was a little over an hour away from the hospital I'm going through now but now I'm 15 minutes farther but in a different state, insurance wise i wasnt sure what to do

Should I Stay Or Should I Go?
I just moved across the border into Wisconsin from Illinois. I have two insurances, united health care and Medicaid through the state insurance. I have started this journey in Illinois and am still an Illinois resident. Since united health care I have to pay the entire amount because our plan doesn't have co pays anymore I'm pretty sure I'm relying on state insurance to pay for this. Here's the dilemma: do I switch over to Wisconsin residence and start the process again in a new hospital because it will be a different insurance through the state? Or stay in Illinois until the surgery is done with? I also have to register lil guy for school and think about switching everything over to the new house. I like this hospital but I feel like with goin to check ups it'll be easier to do that with changing to Wisconsin but it will take longer. What should I do??

Let's Get This Out Of Our System! What Food...
I think I'm seriously lost without pasta lol I don't know what meals to make or how to go about making anything not around it. That really, is my only weakness and it's a pretty big one! Candy, fast food I could care less about. Once I get over that hurdle I should be fine..

You Know You Could Die Right?
Thank you! I don't want to miss out on this oppurtunity because someone told me not to buy they themselves aren't informed on the surgery. He will see the differences after the surgery and will hopefully come around to it. I just want the opportunity to lead a nice healthy thinner life like he does without having to have a million worries about my weight! Not too much to ask I think. We can do this with o without their support initially

You Know You Could Die Right?
- Now What?
Ok yeah I have 2 insurances and I don't think I'll have to pay anything but I'm wondering if this will take longer then to get approved and such. I have united health care and as a second insurance, Medicaid. I'm nervous about the lifetime issues/changes my body will be put through but I think that after I lose the weight and I work on keeping it off I think it will be worth it. I'm just nervous as I am only 22 but don't want to waste half my life trying to convince myself the weight will come off. If it hasn't come off yet and has been bad for over 10 years I don't think it's getting anything but worse ya know?- Now What?
I just had my consult yesterday and they said they were submitting it into insurance. How long should this take?- Consult Today!
Thanks! Yeah I walked out knowing a little bit more than I walked in there with. My doctor has only had 2 deaths in his career doing this surgery and hardly complications. I feel really confident in the success of this but he was just concerned because I am only 22 and looking towards surgery. He just wanted to make sure I knew I needed to take vitamins the rest of my life and such. Other than that it wasn't bad, they're sending it off to insurance an I should hear back soon then- Consult Today!
I have a small list of questions for the doctor, but was wondering what other questions I may have missed that you guys think are good to ask and know before the surgery??- Scared To Be Skinny
Omg that is where I'm at right now! I go places with my bf and sit at restaurants thinking there's a ton of room in the booth, get in and barely fit, look over and think to myself why is there so much more room on the other side?? I've never felt that big, so I've always convinced myself I'm ok but whenever I'm with a skinny friend I suddenly notice my problem and get really down about it. I just want to be comfortable in my own shoes again..- Most Embarrassing Moments...
Oh jeez the list could go on and on! I have been denied a seat on a roller coaster because my thighs were too big and couldn't put the bar down enough. After that I always made sure I could fit before going on but I can't wait until I don't have to do that anymore! I have been wearin jeans before and the button popped off, embarrassing. Also tired of buying jeans constantly because of legs rubbing together and wearing down the jeans. I HATE turnstiles. I always have to go on my tippy toes and go sideways and it's terrible. Looking forward to the changes! I have already cut soda from my diet and I haven't had my consult yet- Found A Fantastic Guide Book!
I saw that someone posted about weight loss surgery for dummies and downloaded it to my iPad. I will most likely get the cookbook too now that you speak of it!- How This Will Affect You In Old Age?
Are there any foods that you need to avoid that will make you sick if you ate them?- Consult On 7/31
Will definitely give you an update when I have my appt- Consult On 7/31
Well I should know a little more insurance wise at the consult then. Five more months in the grand scheme of things isn't so bad compared to the rest of your new life ahead of you I have to wait at least 3 as of right now lol it's exciting but nerve Racking at the same time!- Consult On 7/31
Ok great, thanks its so exciting! They said at the informational meeting on average time from consult to surgery was 2 months! It's crazy to think I could even be thin and healthier let alone not so far off from now! - Now What?
