  1. I am almost 3 months post op. When I started my six months of visits, I was in the mind set of OMG I have to do six months of this before I can even get approved, I was so impatient. The more I went to my visits, other required classes and a support group meetings, the more I learned about eating, nutrition, excercise and just myself in general and now I am glad it was required. I went in to my surgery with so much knowledge and a good clue what to expect, what to eat and it has helped me so much. I have seen people that only had to go to a few appointments and then got approved and were totally clueless as to what the heck was going on, that is sad. You are changing your life, get a clue as to what to do. All that said, learn all you can, ask all the questions you can think of, attend a support group. You will benefit greatly! My life has totally changed, and I can't be happier. Well, I will be happier when I get to goal, but I am super happy to be where I am now. (75 lbs lost as of this Monday)
  2. I hit my 75 lbs weight loss this week! I feel great! July pic 332 lbs Surgery was 10/15 , 301 lbs at time of surgery Now 257 lbs

  4. I just quit cold turkey, it was during one of my "sinus infection" times, I was tired of being sick. So I just threw my pack away and haven't had one since and it will be 3 years in March. I was going to do the patch, but my insurance didn't pay, and I said for $150+ a month, I can do it my self!!
  5. Yay for us 15th'ers lol!! Let's keep it up!!
  6. Yesterday was my 30 day point since surgery and I am down 30 lbs. 61 lbs down since my journey started in April. I am so happy! WLS has it's ups and downs, but it's all gonna be worth it in the end, in my opinion anyways. [
  7. It does get easier, I had my surgery on 10/15 and I am finally getting my energy back. I am eating the soft foods now, get to start introducing more foods next week.
  8. Sure, but I will be able to eat it next week w/out having to purée it. Soooo much better!

  11. Hey everyone just dropping by to say hello. I am now 9 days post op and getting better everyday. Still have some muscle soreness on my right side, but am very thankful I have not been sick or had any other issues. As of Monday (one week post op) I am down 10 lbs. That is a total of 41 lbs since I started this whole journey. I just get tired pretty easy that is the only complaint I have. I am on puréed foods now and no issues. Yay!

  19. I read this and wanted to post it for my October surgery buddies, and for everyone else. It really hit home for me! "The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.” ~B. Moawad
