  1. I'm BrandiNevels973
  2. When I started my journey, after the initial bloodwork I discovered I was anemic. I started taking iron on my own because I kinda anticipated it would be a problem down the line. I think since you're taking iron now it shouldn't be a problem but I'm not a medical professional so what do i know. I hope everything goes smoothly for you!
  3. Welcome! I had my surgery on 1/28. Hope yours is not delayed!
  4. I use unjury flavorless protein. I use it in soups (u have to make sure the soup is not too hot or it will clump) a scoop in pudding, I make shakes and sorbets as well.
  5. Dumped on the pot roast. Nasty chest pains, shortness of breath and oopps out it came :-( it was so damn tasty too.
  6. A small can of tuna mixed with a chopped boiled egg and some light mayo. Late lunch will be 3/4 c Wendy's chili and dinner will be a pot roast cooked in slow cooker for 13 hrs with carrots (I won't eat the potatoes) and maybe a Greek yogurt sometime during the day. And as much water I can swallow :-)
  7. Yeah sum ppl freak out. I had a slight stall a few days ago and I didn't trip. We can't honestly expect to lose weight every single day!
  8. I had open RNY on jan 28th and the drain was taken out the next day. This past tuesday I went to the er because I had (for lack of a better word) lumps under and on both sides of my stitches which contract, knot up and cause extreme pain by pressing up against the stitches. Er doc said (after cat scan) on the left side was water and everything else was scar tissue and that scar tissue can hurt and I will have to just deal with it and it's gonna get worse b4 it gets better. So yesterday there was a piece of hanging scab which I stupidly pulled and out gushed a brownish liquid (no smell) which over the course of 10 mins escalated to bloody fluid. Called mom who works in hospital to ask one of the docs for advice. Was told to apply pressure and if it did not stop within 30 mins to go to er. It stopped. My question is, do you think I should be concerned that theres more fluid inside of me? Should I be concerned that I'm only getting 22 oz of water and about 20/25 gm of protein in? Is it normal to not have a bm daily? Does being on this diet change my body chemistry? (I feel like I smell different) Should I still be in pain 2 weeks postop? I'm sorry for such a long post. My post op follow up was Friday which was cancelled due to the storm and I haven't seen my surgeon yet to ask any of these questions.
  9. I've drank ginger ale to help calm a queasy stomach. I was actually given ginger ale post op in the hospital. The nut said that the whole "bubbles stretch out the pouch" thing is a myth. It's the sugar and empty calories that are the culprit.
  10. I'm 2 weeks post op and my surgeon is not so strict. One week clear liquid. 2nd weeks is shakes, pudding and yogurt. 3 rd week is puréed food like chili, tuna etc. 4th week is solid. I think every doc and nut is different.
  11. Yes a hiccup and slight pressure under my ribs. Sometimes a tightness in my chest (or maybe that's from eating too fast :-(
  12. I'm 2 weeks out and it's real hard for me to get either in. I'm only getting about 22 oz of water and about 20-25 gm of protein in daily.
  13. Greek peach yogurt, 3/4 c. Wendy's chili, and an Edy's no sugar added frozen fruit bar. 2 weeks out and 23 lbs lost
  14. Mine was removed the day after surgery. I kinda wish it was in for longer because yesterday I pulled a hanging piece of scab off my incisions site and a bunch of fluid poured out!! For about 10 mins a brownish liquid came out then it got more red and bloody! I applied pressure and it stopped. Now I'm worried I have fluid still inside of me :-(
  15. I love freebies and it so happens on the day I was complaining about not going to the bathroom, 2 Citrucel samples came in the mail! They work great and 2 a day keeps me regular.
  16. Good luck! See u on the losers side!
  17. Yes I can't drink all this required protein. It's too hard. I made a banana Choc peanut butter shake yesterday and it was so delicious but after 2 hours it was not cold anymore and gross. I choked it down but didn't drink Anymore the rest if the day. This is gonna be hard
  18. DOS 1/28 I haven't had a bm yet. Idk why, it feels weird not having one. And yes, my stomach sounds like an engine revving up! LoL! My dog keeps giving me the "what the hell is wrong with you" face. I started protein shakes today. Have you started yet?
  19. I'm better now. I'm still pissed about everything that happened to me and will be demanding answers when I see the surgeon. My incision hurts (it's a long cut from my breastbone almost to my belly button) and I still need help getting out of bed. I can walk fine and have been walking my dog. But on the plus side is that I'm 16 pounds lighter since 1/28
  20. My surgery was 1/28/13 and I've lost 14 pounds so far.
  21. Praying for you!! Keep us updated on your progress
  22. Hey AmandaD! I'm doing a little better. I stayed the night in the hospital when I went to the er. I was dehydrated and needed fluids. The er staff was appalled that I was discharged so early and I'm having a meeting next week with some director. Thanks for thinking of me! Between you guys and my husband I feel like I have someone to talk to! Despite it all, I'm down 14 lbs since Monday!
