New soft & baked chocolate protein bar
I just bought some online at Quest dot com. They're kinda pricey but I love them. And the Choc chip cookie dough Protein bar. I eat half, put it in the microwave for a few seconds and it is heaven. SD:1/28/13 HW:358 SW:338 CW:297

Meatballs!
I make chicken meatballs. Day old bread soaked in milk. Squeeze the excess milk out. If u don't have this, u can use bread crumbs. Add it to the ground chicken with salt, pepper, egg, parsley, oregano, basil and grated parm. This is an optional step that I add: I sauté onions, garlic and peppers until soft, let cool and add to meat mixture. Form into balls and bake at 400 for 25-30 mins depending on how big u make them. The oddest thing happened...
It sure does. A few ppl said it was uncommon to vomit as much as I do. I never thought this would've happened to me. I've done fertility drugs and everything. I just gave up. I'm still in shock. SD:1/28/13 HW:358 SW:338 CW:297

The oddest thing happened...
I had a dream last night/this morning that I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. So this morning, out of curiosity I took one. It's positive! Wtf?! I took 2 more and the same outcome! I've been trying for over 10 years to have another baby. Idk what to think or how to feel. I feel like one of those clueless teenagers "I didn't know it could happen to me!" Even if you've been trying unsuccessfully for a long time, be careful!! SD:1/28/13 HW:358 SW:338 CW:297

What's the hardest thing for you to give up?

3 post-op questions
Everyone is different. I had RNY on Jan.28 and I throw up at least 3-5x a day. Surgeon said it was ketones and eventually it will pass. Almost all day I'm nauseous and I dry heave and gag. For me it's not an immediate vomit (tmi) more of a "you feel it coming" and it's only foam and slimy saliva. It sucks because I can't go many places. Threw up earlier today at a high school fair with my son. I wanted to stay but I couldn't and cried all day. I hope you're one of the ones that don't go through this. SD:1/28/13 HW:358 SW:338 CW:297

The first step
Hi! Invest in a magic bullet or a really good blender. Good luck on your journey. There are days when I regret getting RNY because I'm going through a severe nauseous and vomiting stage but the 40 lbs I've lost 5 weeks keeps me motivated! This is a great group of people and you'll love it here! SD:1/28/13 HW:358 SW:338 CW:298

What ya eating tonight?
2oz of pan seared salmon with a soy & honey glaze. 2 pieces of imitation crab. I'm thankful to find something solid that I can eat and I guess seafood is what it is! SD:1/28/13 HW:358 SW:338 CW:299

- All I can think about is food!
I had a dream the other night about a smorgasbord of delicious food and as soon as I was about to sit down and eat, my son woke me up! I almost cried lol dream felt so real! SD:1/28/13 HW:358 SW:338 CW:299- this surgery is no joke
I could never get a definitive answer from my surgeon. At the seminar I specifically asked if he did the surg laparascopically and he said yes. I didn't know it was open until the nurse removed my drain and exclaimed "your surgery was open?" I was shocked, horrified and upset. And to too it off, I was discharged 30 hrs after surgery. I was told he always does RNYs openly and I had a hernia as well. I've seen other ppl on the forum with hernias have the surg done laparascopically so I'm still confused. If you click on my name and the forum started by me entitled "surg in the morn" I think that's the name, I have a pic of my incision. SD:1/28/13 HW:358 SW:338 CW:299- New here
Hi! Welcome! SD:1/28/13 HW:358 SW:338 CW:299- What ya eating tonight?
Had about 3 small bites of steak. Felt really uncomfortable for about 20 mins. So I guess I'll have a frozen strawberry chobani. They're so good like that. SD:1/28/13 HW:358 SW:338 CW:299- Onederland

Yes it did hurt and I had open surgery so I had a huge cut from under my breastbone to almost my bellybutton. Took almost a month to recover. SD:1/28/13 HW:358 SW:338 CW:299- Hunger Advice
Thx guys. I tell you this sure is a new life. Feels like a Protein & Water merry-go-round! Do you know of anything other than zofran that works for nausea? That doesn't seem to work for me. SD:1/28/13 HW:358 SW:338 CW:299 - All I can think about is food!
